Can I let someone "play as me" and just have them unlock all the hard trophies on my account? Is that how it works?

People would pay for that, it could be quite a lucrative market for people who are good at games.

But I'm betting it won't work on a typical co-op mode. Developer selective. It would hit sales too much on a typical coop game.

It basically lets them be "player two," so if you were playing co-op it would be in split screen, for example. It wouldn't be like you were playing online properly.

Y'know I don't know the specifics of trophy unlocking, but in principle, that's exactly how it works. You virtually hand over the controller to whoever you invite. I don't think there's been anything said about trophies being blocked during this mode.

Why wouldn't it work? I don't think there's been any indication that its something developers can opt out of.

No I have no evidence either way. I just assume that developers would not be happy to develop a game that is Primarily co-op if only 1 person needs to buy the game his slashing potential sales. It seemed more likely that they would be able to make it only available in certain modes.

They could still have viewing and take over in all modes.

Maybe they will just allow it all.

It'll be interesting to see how well Share Play performs. Presumably it's effectively PS4 remote play, so it's going to live and die by its on-the-fly video/audio encoding and the end-to-end network latency. It's going to be bottlenecked by upload-speed, so the quality could take a nose-dive if you've not got a decent upstream rate.

But you would only ever buy one copy of the game for a local co-op game anyway

Yeah, it's been confirmed that trophies will definitely unlock for the host. Achievement hunter-types are going to be all over this and it would not be a great surprise to see some services spring up. Risk is still with the host as the player connected could quite easily, say, sell all of your hard-eared gear on Destiny, for kicks.

Taken the plunge and i've joined the PS4 club :) I got Shadow of Mordor which I'm enjoying. Any recommendations.

i'm into most genre's. I was in CEX and saw Killzone for a tenner, i take it its worth a punt for that? I think i've heard the shooter is it Resogun is good as well. Cheers

OK, cheers. I'll steer well clear of Killzone then. I quite liked the look of plants v zombies the FPS one. Whats it like?

I forgot to mention i have PS+ so i have a few of the games recommended above.

I'm enjoying Shadow of Mordor & Bayonetta 2 at the moment so no major rush for games and the next round of PS+ games aren't too far away.

I thought Killzone was pretty good and I've been into FPS's since Doom guy was knee high to a grasshopper, so if anything, my tolerance for shit ones should be incredibly low. It's nothing mind blowingly new, but perfectly solid and well worth the pittance you can probably get it for now. I thought its reception was unnecessarily harsh.

Nah it's shite - when games 10 years older offer more innovation and do combat better now there are no excuses for such mediocrity.

It is worse than perfect dark zero and that was a shit launch game too!

Or its a decidedly average shooter with poor level design, particularly the second half after an OK start. Multiplayer was actually quite good too. Wouldn't recommended it now though with Destiny, Metro Redux, fixed BF4 and Far Cry 4 imminent. It does look lovely though.

Killzone multiplayer was pretty decent. The story of the single player campaign was shite but it played well.

I'd say it was easily worth a tenner.

Also, get Resogun. I think it's my most played game.

In fact, Driveclub did me a big favour by being delayed as I got Resogun instead, and I'm still playing it.

Outlast (+ Whistleblower dlc) and Transistor don't get mentioned often but belong to the best PS4 has to offer currently IMO.

I've had my PS4 for three months and Transistor is my first platinum'd game. Really effective soundtrack and visuals if you're into cyberpunk in any way and the story is one of those open to interpretation jobs that promote discussion so well. Think Diablo meets Baldur's Gate meets Crusader: No Remorse with a dash of Grim Fandango.

Probably would have promoted discussion better if any bugger had played it.

I'm waiting for it to be a bit cheaper. It's definitely on my radar but I really didn't enjoy their other much-hyped game. People kept saying how amazing it was and then it really wasn't, so I'm wary now. I don't think I'm in this boat alone.
