This is pretty significant news. Corrinne Yu, who is arguably one of the most accomplished graphics programmers currently working in the industry, has jumped from the role of principal engineer at Microsoft's 343i studios, over to Naughty Dog, a fact she's celebrated with this tweet:

Doesn't exactly appear to be much love lost between her and MS from the sounds of it. This is a big win for Naughty Dog though, their next game (likely the one after Uncharted) is going to blow minds.

Oh man, potential launch day ruined :(

I mentioned a few pages back that Shopto randomly refunded my cash on Thursday. I contacted them about this as I hadn't requested a cancellation. They finally got back to me today and are claiming that I have cancelled it.

Absolute fuckers. Cant get them on the phone and ticket response times are so slow. I've now sent them another email but I get the distinct impression that that's it, my pre-order that I've had with them for about 4 months has been lost on the system. What the hell is going on over there? :(

so I decided, with a week to go, I'd fill the GF in on exactly what I'd done vis-à-vis my PS4 pre-order(s), expecting a shit-storm...

she's offered to pay for it, as an xmas present!

Yeah, maybe. Shopto are taking so long to reply to tickets raised on the site but also wont enter in to a conversation with me on Twitter (and their call center is closed over the weekend).

The ticket response they did send just closed the conversation after confirming the cancellation. Not exactly what I would call good customer service.

If there was anywhere else guaranteeing these for launch day I would love to give them my cash instead.

I feel your pain Marmite. Having a nightmare with Shopto who have allegedly sent my XBox One, but the courier DPD haven't received it.

DPD have replied to a couple emails to say they haven't taken receipt of it. Shopto despite raising tickets and emails, have replied to none of them.

After the PS4 launch, I won't be using them ever again. Some of the worst customer service I've encountered.

Must be pretty wearing having to pretend you like Windows 8 lest a supervisor overhear a criticism and you're suddenly at the bottom of the next stack ranking.

It wouldn't surprise me if she left because of the corporate culture at MS. Supposed to be pretty toxic is it not ? Or maybe she just didn't fancy battling ESRAM for the next 5 - 6 years when making games.

She's a very talented graphics programmer though, looking forward to seeing what she brings to Naughty Dog. I could see her working more closely with the ICE programming team as well.

Yeah I saw your issues in the Xbox One thread. Sucks man. Appreciate that we are probably in the minority but we have committed to spending a decent chunk of cash with them and they are fucking things up for us. The fact that they billed me on Monday and have then just cancelled the order completely is bizarre and clearly a major cock up. So frustrated sitting here not being able to take it up with anybody their side.

I'm not using them again if they don't get this resolved.

I feel sorry for anyone who's experienced problems with Shopto, their customer service is notoriously shit or at least I've only ever read complaints about it. I won't use them for anything other than games.

Does the PS4 allow you to manage your HD? The complete removal of storage management on the XB1 makes my OCD tendencies itch.

There's a breakdown of how much free space is used up by content type, and you can delete game installs manually, if that's what you mean.

Sorry to hear that, ordered with ShopTo due to their generally favourable reputation, have they taken a few too many preorders I wonder without staffing up.

You could try John Lewis at midnight if all else fails, not sure on chances but believe they're supposed to have some stock.

I loved the way they tried to justify that. Something like "we don't want you to have to worry about storage space", more likely they don't want people to know how much space the OS and other gubbins takes up on the HDD. I think the PS4 was only 408GB available storage in the end, which did surprise me.
