The new version of the playstation app on ios is up (if you re-download it). Mixed feelings about it though. It goes off to webpages in safari for things like games and loads up the mobile version of the SEN website (which is actually rather nice). Was hoping for it all to be in app.

I swear idiotic fucking muppets on hukd are using the code on 10 different orders and some of them aren't even using it on games, they are buying toastie makers and cookware.

I hope they actually just look at the time it was posted on there and cancel all the orders made after that.

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere but what's the deal with playback of mp4s and avi's? Also, sure I read that external drives are not working for some things?

Got an external 500 gig full of ripped dvds. Be gutted if I can't use it on a ps4.

I don't think media playback is supported at launch but I expect it'll be patched in later.

Played Knack on the Game demo pod... Absolute tripe. Graphics are sub standard by last gen standards and the gameplay felt cookie cutter. I get amazed how people get launch goggles on and proclaim terrible games to be good...

Most people aren't proclaiming it to be good though. But some people who are putting a bit of time and effort into it are proclaiming that there might be a fun enough game in there somewhere.

To be fair I've seen Game demo pods being terribly set up with games looking like shit compared to at home so it wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah, whether it's a good game is a lot more debatable. I do think however it's got more ideas than it's being given credit for.

It certainly looked nice on the demo pod I played on - not KZ, Resogun or Forza levels of next gen but very solid, high resolution and particle effects a plenty. Simplistic combat though - I may pick it up post launch if it turns up cheap, after all I actually enjoyed Kameo on the 360

Playing something like Knack after spending 400 odd quid would bring on buyers remorse pretty quickly especially with Mario landing in on the same day.

I don't really expect much from Knack in gameplay terms but it is the sort of game that isn't going to review well for numerous reasons. It doesn't try to do anything new (physics engine aside), the basic gameplay is old hat, it's getting unfairly compared to more ambitious games and it has a big name attached to it. It's easy to see why reviewers would be critical.

Thats all fair enough, but it does seem the sort of game where reviews aren't going to be relative to the views of individuals. Sometimes people want simple, easy to grasp gameplay mechanics so they can sit back and relax. People with kids are going to get more out of the game than a 25 year old FPS guy who wants the absolute cutting edge in all his games.

Knack's biggest problem seems to be actually delivering what it was intended to be, a simple, easy to play, cartoonish, beat em up type game for all the family. Complaining it's simple, doesn't have lots of gameplay depth and isn't as good as the games screaming next gen is kinda missing the point.

Personally I've no opinion whatsoever about if it's any good because I haven't played it. I'm perfectly happy to rent it and make my mind up after playing it, but I'll base it on what it is, rather than what it isn't. I've played better rated games that I dislike, so I'm happy to go into this with an open mind. I wouldn't buy it at full price though, the money is better spent on something more ambitious.

I was thinking about buying Knack next week and from all the streams, footage and opinions I've read I'm pretty certain I'd enjoy it and have a good time. However with the new Mario out next week that takes priority for me.

Knack is two games in one when you think about it.

On easy it is a kid / family friendly title that is open and accessible to people of all ages and ability.

On hard it apparently turns into Dark Souls: Colourful Edition

I get a feeling a lot of reviewers missed the point of the game and rushed their reviews out without giving it the proper attention.

Those of you getting AC4 are in for a treat. It's really fun to play, and it IS STUNNING to look at. Those waves! I'm playing on PC, and I've seen some PC to PS4 comparison screenshots (both 1080p) and there's no noticible difference to me so it's gonna look fantastic for you PS4 owners. Great stuff.

Yeah Ive gone from no interest to wishing I got that instead of Killzone.

Still... I haven't liked a single AC yet, so I'm still slightly hesitant. But imagine I'll be trading in Killzone for it when I complete that.

I must admit, I have been leaning towards getting ACIV. Partly because if Far Cry 3 is any indicator, theres so much to do I'll still be playing it on and off in the middle of next year. It's easier to stomach the premium pricing when it's a game that has long term legs.

Seriously can't wait to get stuck into this.. I even loved the likes of Risen 2 because of the pirate setting so this is going to push all the right buttons.

It's also one of the plus points of Watch Dogs being delayed, meaning this will now get the attention it deserves.

Not really, there are still present day elements. But I've played for hours and have had about 5 minutes of present day.
