I was just coming in to post the question. "Having read the day one excitement of the Kinnect 2 experience what can the PS4 camera actually do?"

As some of those things are quite cool even if ultimately they don't lead to a better game experience. Saying that the idea of subtle head tracking etc in FPS for example is interesting and worth persuing. As much as I am sticking with Sony this gen I like the Kinnect as a piece of tech and would quite like it to do well even if it does mean that Sony end up ploughing more cash into the software for their camera or releasing a new one. If they did have to do that I do think it could work better than Kinnect did for the 360 because it would be a more accepted bit of future technology. Microsoft would be leading the way with it but thats cool.

Really though, I hope it falls flat on its arse. ;)

I'm getting the MEGA BUNDLE so consequently will also be getting the camera and therefore I hope they make it ultimately brilliant.

Playroom looks good, but think it will suffer from not being bundled with the console.

but in all honesty I dont see Kinect taking off in a meaningful way either. Give it a few weeks and no one will be talking about it, and they will be using their pads again.

I promise this isn't stoking. For anybody who has not checked out the Xbox thread there appear to be quite a number of faulty units turning up. Mainly a fault with the Blu Ray drive sounding likes its eating discs and not being able to read them etc. The proportion just on this forum sounds quite high but as we all know from the PS4 launch these things are very hard to judge.

I am gutted for everyone getting faulty Xbox Day One of course but in a weird way I am pleased that its not just Sony who may be having bad luck \ bad press \ bad planning with the launch machines.

It's inevitable really, 1% is enough to cause a REALLY big stink on the internet.

The Bone one seems more than the PS4 one but that's because it's a UK launch and we have UK posters, so however bad the PS4 one was, it was never going to affect too many people here.

We'll see...

Got my hands on a ps4 pad today in game - really liking the feel of it. It was short lived though as being Glasgow while trying the demo of Knack I had running commentary from a couple of neds "ps4 looks weird" "aye whits wae the shape man", "that game looks shite" -"grafiks are awrite - it's cawed crack or sumhin" , "disnae look as good a caw a juty" at which point I left.
