PlayStation 4 Console Thread

I downloaded that 1080p 60fps video of ACIV. It looked very nice and very smooth but I'm confused. I thought ACIV was 30fps?

It is on the consoles. Presumably the video in question is the one from early August where they were still showing a PC build with DS4 button prompts; if memory servers the framerate is pretty variable in that footage, although naturally that wouldn't be noticeable with most web players.

Like virtually everything else in the modern world, I don't understand that one bit. Is that a thing now? To buy something and smash it to peices?

It happens at every console launch now. Usually a wannabe or has-been youtube 'celebrity' recording a video that is guaranteed click-bait.

Lol, the seriously OTT fanboys are morons. What difference does smashing 1 console make. Don't these idiots realise that they're acctually lining Sonys pockets.

Given that consoles are usually sold at a loss (and Sony have said the PS4 is following this), no.

I just think it's a stupid thing to do, it's got nothing to do with fanboyism and everything to do with me not seeing the point in completely pointless destruction for the sake of some youtube views. A position that won't change when the inevitable Xbox one occurs.

The PS4 is actually only losing about $20 per unit or something. So Sony aren't really losing out much.

I thought it was a case of the PS4 costs around $380 to make and it's on sale for $399 ? Considering retailers make next to no profit on hardware surely they'd be not losing any money ?
