PlayStation 4 Console Thread

PS4 has quite a few ports which honour Crossbuy: Journey, Splelunky, Hotline Miami etc.

But I think they should do more to make PSNow more attractive. I can only assume that it will be costing them on a 'per user' basis, but getting people actually using it should be far more important.

Got a right to be pissed off I spent £350 on a console that didn't deliver for me.... I won't be going near another Sony console at launch for sure. Full of vapourware and marketing BS.

Taught me a lesson though with respect to Sony... Luckily I sold it quick enough (well 12 months wasn't that quick I guess...) to recoup most of the outlay and got a shiny graphics card for the PC. :D

Anyway last I'll say on the subject....

Nobody said you don't have a right to be pissed off, but you bring it up in every other post that you make. We've heard the same thing a billion times before, you're adding nothing to the discussion.

True. Just biter. :)

To add just seeing adverts on TV clearly advertising games that don't exist to buy for the PS4 at the moment (Uncharted 4) just brings all Sonys BS back to the forefront of the mind again. They are still doing the same thing... suppose if it works...

You mean the UC footage which the trailer you linked yourself shows to be part of YouTube playback?

Not that it fucking matters either way.

Yup. :D

My point is the *only* game footage they have in there is of a game that you can't actually buy yet. I'm guessing its a YouTube video to get around advertising standards... anyway. Your right doesn't matter. Just BS ads as normal.

All of the companies do it to a degree or another.

I'm an ex-PS4 gamer who enjoyed ResoGun and Outlast. And my brief time with DriveClub when it finally worked as intended. :)

Oh crap.. :D

Yay neg away.... :D I don't care.... :P Jeez god forbid if people criticise a corporation for being a bit rubbish eh? ;)

Here is one one of the ads in question...

It should go to advertising standards...

Sorry but this is the worst part of the market in my opinion. Don't buy in early then complain about delays and nothing to play. If you wanted Driveclub you should've waited until it came out and worked. This is why gamers get shafted repeatedly, cos they'll buy into everything then weakly complain as if it made any difference to the companies' bottom lines.

You are correct. I should have known better. :) Damn... put my faith in a release date... :) Just seems that Sony are particularly *bad* at hitting them? And a year is fairly unacceptable really... considering the release date was printed on the back of the box.... Just speaking from my experience with Sony not biased in any way. I'm not bringing other consoles into the equation but other companies tend to give release dates and the thing gets released on time. OK maybe with a few patches here and there but you can play it.

Anyway. I'm out of this thread. I don't want to de-rail it. A lot of people are happy with their PS4's and Sony I wasn't. That's all I'm saying.

As everyone bins off Sony for remasters etc - and rightly so, because they really should have a better exclusives line up by this point - it is worth remembering that as of June this year, almost half of all PS4 owners never had a PS3. That's the audience they're playing to; the hardcore 360/Wii gamers and new entrants that these exclusive remakes are entirely fresh to.

If you had a PS3 and you've already had these games, I don't think Sony necessarily have you in their sights. Sure, if some of you pick them up, they'll happily take the pound notes, but they're catering for an absolute mass of owners who are perfectly happy.

And that includes me! Yay!

Here's another bit, specific to the Uncharted Collection. 80% of PS4 owners (give or take) have never played an Uncharted game (because not all PS3 owners will have bought them originally).

That's 17 million console owners.

How have they established how many PS4 owners did not own a PS3?

There were surveys sent out to owners earlier this year which specifically asked about previous console ownership. You don't need to get a massive response rate across so many users to have confidence in the stats.

In the case of uncharted it's a little unclear, suspect it's similar or possibly trophy based?
