PlayStation 4 Console Thread

Yeah tried that earlier and had no joy :(

Are you actually online? If they'd revoked licenses from people for foreign bought titles there'd be a small meltdown going on just now.

Have you tried the ps4 "solves everything" option of rebuilding the mystery database?

Yeah I'm online :) no issues there. I can play the games with no issues on my US id, its justs under my main UK account is where the problem lies. Not to mention this is where my save games are as well.

Might give re-building the DB a go.

Is your PS4 still set as your primary console?

I think so need to check that, can this be set per account type uk/us etc?

Now that they've simplified the architecture, the machine will be drowning in first party software made by teams taking full advantage of the power advantage that multi platform devs are either too time restricted or too stupid to access, making delays and broken releases a thing of the past !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a great game, but isn't it a bit of a strange choice for a remake? Didn't the original sell pretty poorly?

Over half a million on PS3 and over half a million on Steam, so not too bad. Hopefully they'll release them both over here and make Blue for PC as well.

Is this the big Sega game that was hinted at before TGS? I agree with SMD that it's a great choice for a remake. The recent Steam release will have seen it pick up some more fans, and it's one of the few games that has a classic Sega vibe.

Never played the original, so very excited.

EDIT: It's two announcements - VC remake and VC4!

Sorry if I come across a bit Boozy, but their big Christmas bundle comes with a bunch of PS3 remasters?

I was thinking the same thing. Guess if someone has never played the games then all is good. However... You'd think they'd bundle some newer PS4 exclusive titles in there perhaps?

Also watching an advert on PS4 recently and it clearly showed footage of Unchartered 4 on the ad. I know technically it's on its way but it is kind of false advertising really. You cannot play it now. If I didn't know better I would have thought that I could pick up a PS4 and play that game, Hate marketing stuff like this. Remembers looking at the advert for DriveClub on the box of the PS4 I bought a month after launch. A year later it appears, to buy only (at full retail price) and broken. Anyway....

Yep, that's a pretty backwards-looking bundle. "Hey, remember all of those games you liked on PS3? Play them again! Only £290."

(of course, my recently purchased Bone is a pure old Rare and Halo games playing machine at the moment, but at least Microsoft tried to sell me some new games)

It's still a lot of game for your money, and it's well-reported that most people who are buying a PS4 didn't own a PS3 last-gen.

I think it's a smart strategy. Sony can afford to bundle these relatively low-cost high-quality 1st party remasters and any they represent good value for buyers without cannibalising the audience for newer titles.

Maybe Microsoft should respond with a MCC/GoW/Rare Replay collection.

Or it could be, hey people who didn't have a PS3 or for some reason had a PS3 and didn't play these games, why not have five cracking games all gloriously remastered.

Plus Sony released six new game exclusives this year, plus five remasters. Drive Club Bikes is stand alone but I won't include that. Microsoft released five exclusives and two remasters (although one of them was 30 games on a disc).

PS4 also had more third party exclusives and console exclusives this year by a large margin, just because Uncharted 4 as well as Ratchet & Clank were delayed from Q4 shouldn't mean the rest of the year should be overlooked.

One thing that pisses me off though is that all those games I "own" digitally on PS3 can't be added to PSNow, if the games I have purchased previously could be played through that service I'd be a very happy man. Microsoft's approach to BC is excellent in that regard.

You could look at it that way, but my cynical hat says "we're in the lead, this'll do". And they're quite right.

Regarding PS Now, the least they could do is give us access to any titles that were also on PS+. They've already subsidized me having those.

I don't remember arguing otherwise ;) My PS4 offers a far wider range of games (particularly new games) that I actually want to play than my Bone, I was just amused that Sony's main console-selling bundle going into Christmas looks to feature only PS3 games!
