PlayStation 4 Console Thread

So Bloodborne, 2 multi plats and 5 PC indie games. It's like your agreeing with me but can't admit it to yourself.

The Witcher III is a PC indie game at the end of the day. You can't bang on about innovation and then completely ignore innovative games such as Rapture or SOMA.

According to you Halo and Forza are at the cutting edge of design and creativity.

I haven't mentioned Halo or Forza though. If you could avoid these crass console war references and take a more critical view of Sony's first party support of their own console with a dearth of quality must buy software you'd maybe appreciate why I don't think they are deserve an A+ on their report card at this point in the generation.

The impression I get is that Xbox One owners are like PS3 early adopters or Gamecube enthusiasts or people who can't let the Saturn and Dreamcast go. A siege mentality with a mutual camaraderie, faith unwavering while everyone else just wants to play games.

:D Perhaps... Not sure. In the end I guess you buy one over the other because of the games on the preferred console.

Had both consoles for a while. Eventually sold the PS4 because just preferred using the Xbox One (more games I wanted to play, preferred Xbox live and the controller). Also because I had so much choice could never decide on what to play with my limited gaming time :D

Just about the games. If you want the best choice just buy all consoles and a PC. Ultimate setup. If you have plenty of cash and time of course....

Another factor sometimes is online gaming and what your mates have - PS4 seems to have a bigger crowd this time around. However people at work all have Xbox Ones and most of my old XBox Live crowd shifted onto Xbox Ones (although some moved over to PS4 initially and then moved back again - like I did after I got fed up with Sony not getting stuff out on time and to quality.. waited too long for the fiasco that was DriveClub and well less said about Order 1887 the better... finally no dates on GT7 at all)

Well yeah, precisely. I don't get why you'd be invested in the actual platform rather than being enthused about the games.

Didn't you sell ALL your consoles and go PC master race for a few months? Could be confusing you with somebody else.

http://dannybstyle.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/regarding-my-super-meat-boy-soundtrack.html?m=1

Not that I've heard the replaced soundtrack yet, but it's hard not to feel like Meat Boy's soul just got ripped out of it with this news. :( I wasn't a fan of ReBirth's soundtrack compared to original Issac, either.

Huge shame.

Just posting this again as it's been flooded under 90's console wars talk.

No you haven't mentioned them but considering you're poo-pooing anything with less than a six figure budget we're left to assume that's what you think.

Gotta love your reasoning though; if you could just agree with me everything would be OK!

The weird thing with Boozy is that, as mentioned, that he used to hate PC gaming and shit up any PC related thread with a vehemence that would make you think he went downstairs for a glass of milk one night only to find to find John Carmack and Gabe Newell spit-roasting his mum. Then MS announce their new console, it's possibly the most PC-like console yet, and he get full on chubby for it. Go figure.

I did. Then Forza withdrawal symptoms kicked in... lol. Decided I needed some of that in my life as well as Gears and Crackdown 3 etc.

Shame MS can't release some of its first party titles on PC... Forza would be even better on that....

I feel I need to say this - when the consoles were launching and there was plenty of bickering between the two sets of fans, I once tried to defend the xbox fans by saying that even Boozy was reasonable compared to some of the PS4 fans.

I was wrong. Very wrong. And I'm very, very sorry to any PS4 fans I may have incorrectly stated were less reasonable than Boozy.

So just been playing MGS:V and my PS4 is really loud but its not massively hot, just warm.

It's a launch PS4, so I presume at this point I can't sort a replacement with Sony at all?

My PS4 gets a bit loud when playing MGSV too. I think it's just pushing the hardware a lot.

Replacement is not going to happen. Seems to be a PS4 feature. One thing that made mine quieter was taking the side panel off and vacuuming any vents making sure they were clean.

Also make sure it has plenty of ventilation as it'll kick off if it's pulling in warm air.

I have my machines in a unit where there isn't the greatest amount of air flow, so have £5 usb fans from Rymans plugged into them (PS4 & Xbox One). The Ps4 seemed to benefit greatly from this as it became much quieter.

They might if they go direct to the retailer using the sale of goods act, but otherwise Sony will charge you once it's outside the 12 month warranty.

Again, people in this thread have also had it done outside 12 months.

If it's demonstrably an issue from purchase (which it is), it's 2 years anyway, not 12 months.

Sony only replaced mine with no hassle because it was within the 12 months warranty

Retroed convinced GAME to repair his outside of warranty but they just sent it back to him saying nothing was wrong
