Are there any significant differences between the different PS4 models? The new Uncharted bundle they've announced for October has the latest model, but I'm not that fussed about the game. However, the Destiny bundle over at Amazon (not with the Destiny version of the console) is about £10 cheaper and it's a game that I would very much like to play, though it's the older PS4 model.

The standard black Destiny console bundle is the new CUH-12xx model; the image on the box is the new all-matte finish.

I reckon it'll be fine. The box art is a mock-up so they probably didn't update the model number. The picture of the console further down the page is the matte finish and one of the third party sellers confirms in a customer answer that it's the new model. I can't see Sony having both old and new models in the same bundle when they'll all have the same outer pack art.

You can always ask Amazon customer services to confirm?

I don't think I've ever played a game where there's such a gaping chasm between the technical aspects, and every single other aspect. The idea of an interactive film you play through as a third person shooter doesn't bother me so much as the fact that it's the worst film ever. It's like they took a teenager's idea for a film where King Arthur's steampunk knights fight werewolves and vampires and poor people, and didn't let any adults rewrite it or remove any of the insane avalanche of different stupid ideas.

It's a real shame, because the graphics are the best I've ever seen. It looks fucking incredible, the loading times are almost non-existent, and the frame rate is totally solid. I just can't get over how unbelievably awful the story and cutscenes and the actual game bit are - it's like their model for the story was weird steampunk / Twilight slash fiction they'd found on the internet, and their model for the game was those bits in Gears of War where the main character walks around very slowly with his finger in his ear.

The graphics were pretty good (though a strong reminder that either my TV is shit or I need to sort out the settings) but that's strong art direction. There's no huge draw distance or anything.

The shooting was very dull. Still not sure what the story was about it why the werewolves were really there. Must have left a shit load on the cutting room floor.

The art direction was great too, but I was really impressed by the textures and the lighting - I reckon the bits where you pointlessly look at objects were in there purely there to show off the detail on the wood and cloth textures, and the way the light reflects off metal. It looks properly next-gen.

But yeah, the shooting is so dull. It's hard to say why, as there's nothing obviously seriously wrong with it, it's just a bit boring. Probably for the best that the shooting bits are only 20% of the game, with the rest being you looking at objects, walking around slowly, shit stealth sections, QTEs and cutscenes, except those bits are even more dull than the shooting.

I bought that Destiny pack from Tesco - I can check when I get home if you want (if I work out where to look).

So noob PS4 owner. I like it. It's quick and resposive menus (coming from 360) and seems pretty streamlined/easy to access stuff without "BUY BUY BUY STUFF" I remember the 360 having.

Anything I should do with it? I set up free PSN and nabbed the Plus games. Linked my Facebook and then unlinked it due to fear. I've downloaded Netflix and set up home media sharing for videos from the PC on the big Telly

What's this easy sharing screenshots people are doing?

It was bought to stop people harassing me to play Destiny with them play Destiny with chums. I've got a good PC so it'll be PS exclusives only...Uncharted and TLOU are on the radar...maybe Bloodborne too (but no magic)

And then this pops up demanding I spend more money;

It's cooler and quieter.

I didn't really pay any attention beyond "Oh it's that shape? How ugly", "Small!", "No bulky power transformer" and "Oh what a pretty light"

I'm 99.9% confident it was Matte or Glosse though. So we've really narrowed down the shortlist.

US code but no issue, just setup a US account for free and then add the code you get and thats it - plays it on your main account!
