Would something like this be suitable for removing the screws? Though the website doesn't stipulate the exact sizes??

It's nothing running the nozzle of a hoover over the vents wouldn't remove.

Nope. Tried that plenty of times; I'm not especially confident about opening things up, so this was far from my first resort. With that said, I'm going to try and make sure the vents are hoovered on a weekly basis from now on in order to stop dust from settling.

So I sent off my noisy PS4 to Sony last monday. I was told it goes to one place then to the repair centre - whatever, so they might not confirm receipt of my console for around seven days. I got the email yesterday saying they got my console - I'm thinking it is still another week or two till I get it. However, I then got an email and text today saying my PS4 has been dispatched and is arriving tomorrow. 24 hour ootential turn around means

1: They found nothing wrong with my console and will probably include a letter that says we found nothing wrong with your console you fucking idiot.

2: They opened it up and cleaned and re-thermal pasted it really quickly or the email to me saying it arrived was late and they had it a few days.

3: They kept mine to refurbish/found a fault and sent me another refurbished/new one they had ready to go (hopefully this one so same result as wools)

I'm guessing it is 1 - Wools, did you have the same sort of turnaround?

How loud are we saying peoples ps4 get, I use mine with headphones mainly but the other day when it was hot I just had the speakers going - the PS4 was loud but not silly loud like cleaning mode on PS3??

Mine is ridiculously noisy. It sounds like it's gonna fucking take off when Rocket League is running and the pause menu on Everybody Goes to the Rapture sends it into a screaming overdrive. Tempted to send it back to Sony as well and see if I can get a replacement.

Mine is still quiet (but not silent) during Rocket League AND my launch controller's left thumbstick has survived three weeks with it in mint condition.

I can't wait to have some grandkids to tell them all about this unbelievable story.

Pro tip: bought Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and started downloading it - 18 hours to download 6gb! So I shut down the PS4 and turned it on again and now it's only gonna take 25 mins apparently. So if your download speeds are crawling try doing that.

Also why is Metro Redux £11.59 for both games, yet individually they're £15.99? Also are they worth getting?

Battlefield 4 is around a tenner, does that still have a large online userbase and how noob friendly would it be now?

I often find just pause/restarting the download can effect a large change in download speed.

Pause and resume. Sometimes you're allocated a slow download server. Pausing, waiting a minute, then resuming usually allocates you to another part of Sony's network where the speeds are better. Might have to try it a few times.
