From the trailer we can tell they've been working on another action RPG with a similar battle system. The sprawling environments and massive enemies which worked so well in XC feature heavily here too, but it looks like Monolith Soft want to offer us even grander scales, with landscapes we can fly over and battles fought in giant robot suits. Will update the thread when we know more. Presumably, given the developer's history, the game will be called Xeno-something, but with the similarities to the original this is most likely Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Some things I've noticed from the trailer: There's a chat window, which suggests online multiplayer? You can swap weapons mid-combat, allowing you to switch between melee and ranged attacks. There's a transforming mecha called a "Doll", which can be used to drive/fly/sail around the world. Not to spoil too much, but this new game could pretty much begin exactly where XC ended. Is the Wii U bc with wii games because i've yet to try out Chronicles and this looks kinda awesome? Agree about the lack of color though... And the timer next to the radar map?> Well the text box on the lower left is definitely from a chat, they're greeting each other ("nice to meet you" "good evening") before being amazed at how big that beast is, ending with "okay, let's go get it!"
