The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I still have to quit Cyberpunk occasionally for graphical quirks coming out of quick resume. Whatever, just games of this scope.

 

I have to say, I struggled with W3 maybe a year back but am quite looking forward getting back into it and having a proper go with this patch. After cyberpunk is rinsed, obviously.

I’m buzzing about the combat mod being installed into the console version. I never got further than 15ish hours due to the combat being unsatisfying - hopefully this feels challenging and up to date!

I think I might wait until the Ghost Mode overhaul is updated. It does far too much good to leave out. The author says an update “depends on many factors”, so just going to have to wait it out.

I did read somewhere that they've smoothed out any performance dips the original had in novigrad (not that I'd know as I never played it, but understand it had a reputation), so I do wonder how much general optimisation they've built in besides all the shiny rtx and stuff.

I just searched for 'witcher 3 next gen upgrade' on YouTube and there at least a dozen more than I added earlier on here, discussing and analysing the new update.

Oh the implimentation of FSR in this games seems astonishingly bad as the DLSS image quality walks all over it. Not good news for those of you on AMD. No idea why it looks so bad but from the images in this it looks like it's the switch version comapred to the PS4. (I loved playing this on switch by the way)

I'm a genius. I bought Witcher 3 and all the dlc years ago and never played it. Now I can play for the first time on series x and it is going to be magnificent. 4k fucking on a unicorn.

CDPR actually do this a lot with their games, all the Witcher games have gotten similar upgrades for free.

Just reading the patch notes. 99% of the updates seem to be graphical, which is nice, but I really hope they've addressed certain things like XP distribution and rare items spawning in places where they probably shouldn't. Shit like that was all over the place on the base game.
