Heres a turn up for the books albeit not 100% shocking given the writer. On the day that Steven Spielberg put Robopocalypse into limbo because of script issues, another of the sci-fi projects he was once considering, Interstellar, has a new man in charge. Chris Nolan is now in negotiations to make it his follow-up to The Dark Knight Rises.

Written by Jonathan Nolan AKA Chris brother the complex script is based on theories from Caltech astrophysicist Kip Thorne and involves both time travel and alternate dimensions via a wormhole.

Given that one and now likely two Nolans are involved, everything else is still shrouded in mystery, though it appears the script has undergone significant re-writes between Spielbergs plans to make it around 2007.

Paramount has the rights, but any Nolan film would be a co-production with Warner Bros., where the directors Syncopy company is set up. Right now, theres no solid schedule for shooting as a final deal isnt yet in place, but given how closely the Nolan siblings have worked together in the past, and the projects compelling narrative, were keeping our fingers crossed it all works out. Because lets face it: Chris Nolan making hard sci-fi again? Yes, please

He does some right shite, agreed, but he has the chops to do good roles justice. Jesus, he was the stand out actor of 2012 for me with Killer Joe, and was great fun in Sahara. Lincoln Lawyer was decent because of him alone too.

Optimistic.

I wonder if the reason it's a co-production is because it's going to cost a fortune.

Paramount has the rights, but any Nolan film would be a co-production with Warner Bros., where the director’s Syncopy company is set up.

I tend to skip any film he's in, though I didn't mind him in Amistad and A Time To Kill. Am I brutally wrong then and must rectify that?
