Fallout 4 - VR Coming Soon

Recommended Posts

I managed to stop watching the trailer after five seconds as I realised, y'know... there's no way I'm not going to get this game. Even if I die I'll probably rise from the dead just to play it.

Fallout Shelter seems alright from the wee bit of time I've put into it though- the animation is lovely, it's like a living Fallout cartoon.

Yes, that's quite enough for me! No media until release now. Looks completely excellent, all round a fantastic first conference from Bethesda where this was the jewel in the crown!

Anyone heard anything on fallout shelter for android? Guessing its not imminent after the apple name dropping in the presentation.

Back when the Fallout 4 teasing started and the countdown popped up, internet detectives found Android being mentioned in the .css. So I'd say it's happening and they're just not speaking about it yet due to iOS exclusive shite.

You're not missing much, it's just a Fallout skinned Tiny Tower.

Watched the crafting and base-building earlier and it looked great. There's going to be lots to do which is exciting.

Played some Fallout 3 but the game sadly never "clicked" with me. The new game will hopefully be good reintroduction for me. I had little interest in the game until I saw some trailers and I'm very hyped for it now.

Good, as I've been resting my gaming time a lot and was worried I had gone off gaming.😀

I would assume Fallout Shelter it will be out on Android at some point as the Pip Boy app is due out on IOS and Android. And since there was to mention of the pip boy app coming out for Windows Phones I think Windows users are out of luck or will be waiting a long time for Fallout Shelter.

I don't think I've ever bought special editions of any games unless it was for extra content, but I'm sorely tempted by the Pipboy collectors edition :omg:

As I said in the E3 thread, I'm really pleased they've put house building in, and extended the crafting system hugely.

I thought the DIY-houses bit in Skyrim DLC was really good fun,but I didn't expect to see it carried over into Fallout, let alone hugely improved by (seemingly) letting you build your house where you want, and have complete control over the design.

More interactivity and control over how the world develops was high up on the list of things I was hoping they would introduce into Bethesda RPGs.

I'd love it if you could found your own frontier town, or even a vault - and set it up to keep it safe from raiders, and ensure your fellow residents have food and supplies, hire a sheriff and security guards, etc. I guess its not going to be that complex yet, but hopefully that's the way these games are heading.

I'm sure it will all be totally optional and you can just play through the main campaign as a wandering hero, if you want

Anyone else close their eyes just in time when they realised they were about to show the "emerges from the vault into sunlight" moment?

I'm never too bothered about spoilers in games, as I have enough real-world problems to get enraged about. But that was one thing I wanted to experience for the first time during the game, rather than having seen it before in vids.

So did everyone get the impression that you will be able to play through the apocalypse happening? I can't remember whether they explicitly said that in the presentation, but I've seen it reported this morning that it will be included. I really hope so. If that's true, and with the crafting element as well, its like they've somehow read my mind and included all the things I really wanted to see in FO, but didn't think would happen quite yet.

200 years asleep in the vault (and it's expressed fairly precisely, not like "about 200 years" or something) would place this as happening at the exact same point in time as FO3 if my calculations are correct.

Dammit, why isn't the pip boy edition up anywhere

It is...

in Australia! :D

My specialist retailer (EB Games, trading as GAME in the UK) fired off an email not two hours ago, announcing preorders - strictly one per customer, mind - so I laid down a deposit forthwith. Roll on November!

Tutorial/prologue will revolve around getting to the vault as bombs fall, from what we've heard. All ending, I bet, with the closure of the door.

Hopefully flight scrolls will be in the next Elder Scrolls then, after a generation without them.

Although it still looks like the cities are walled off, the new trailer confirms the one we've seen before is the Fenway Park one, which has a big armoured door for the stadium entrance, so no idea how that would work with flight.

What price (as I've not seen any hint of that so far)?

Edit: Never mind, looked on the site. I guess we're probably looking at about £90 for it in the uk, as it's slightly less than double the standard edition in Aus.

Am I being a dope or is there no way of moving rooms in the iOS game. Half the appeal of this kind of game is scratching your OCD tendencies and laying out your town/base just so.
