Has anyone posted about the Collectible Badge Center (app) yet? At any rate, it's free and I want it!

Nintendo's exciting new app available for free on the Japanese eShop that allows you to play and win badges to use as folder icons on your 3DS home screen - or just as decoration. It’s a simple little UFO catcher crane game as in the arcades with five free plays or five plays after that for ¥90.

Rune Factory 4 has its hooks in me. I dont like the aesthetic much (although the overall tone of the game is incredibly charming). But it plays so well. A blend of a life sim, business management game and action rpg, and what makes it work so well is that all elements of the game interconnect really nicely with each other. Your farming and fishing and crafting and cooking helps your questing, and your exploration and monster killing helps your crafting and farming etc, and it gives you total freedom to just do what you want. You are never too far away from new areas to explore or other sruff to mess around with. No time limits like Harvest Moon, so you can just focus on making awesome armour for everyone, or making a fortune in the hat trade, or being a badass adventurer.

So addictive. A great christmassy game too.

Got a question people's. Bravely Default, is it good ? I'm a big Final Fantasy fan so I'm pretty sure I'll love it but I haven't found it for less than £37 anywhere so I want to be sure. I've completed my Pokedex in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire now so need something to keep me occupied !

Oh, and there's a demo in the eShop, which you can play and then carry over your progress to the full game. The demo is supposedly a good 8 hours long!

Aye, probably the best demo on the eshop. You can even use streetpass with it to bump up your workers and get a nice boost in the real game. Which you'll get because the demo is so good!

I got twenty hours out of it before I got bored, but those twenty hours I enjoyed, so I'm not sure if that's a recommendation or not, really.

And well done on completing your Pokedex. I'm currently playing through Y and it seems like almost an impossible task. Did you complete yours through trades, or grinding, or both?

Both, a mixture of catching all I could in game, evolving, trading and using Pokemon Bank to move over the last couple of Mon from my Platinum, White and Ex games. If Pokemon Bank isn't an option ive found the best thing to do is trade a few Pokemon and get a male and female Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander, take them to the Day Care centre and use the Level 1's to deposit for the hard to find Pokemon via GTS, you'll find people will generally trade anything for the original 3. It took me 60 hours to complete this time as I didn't want to just move all my Pokemon over from previous games. If there's any your really struggling to get let me know mate and I'll be happy to trade them over to you, just let me know your Nintendo number jobby. Same for anyone really, if there's any pokemon from any game your struggling with let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Still got my National Dex to complete, got about 50 to get so not too far off :)

Thinking of trading in my 3ds xl while it is still worth £100 notes and getting a bunch of games for my shiny new WiiU :)

I've got games on it that I'd not like to lose though... so I thought I could transfer my account to my daughter's new 2ds, so that she could use them... that should be straight forward but do you think I'd still be able to get the free game for having a new 2ds and pokemon?

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok so I was (and probably still am!) quite tempted but I didn't realise that it was £20 over the RRP (apparently set at £159?).

I'd thought the fact that us early adopters of the 3DS got put onto the ambassador scheme was because we'd already payed over the odds for one ?!?
