It would be hilarious if Cubic Ninja was just a joke and they've needlessly sold thousands of copies of it over nothing.

Smealum even mentioned it in a tweet back in mid-August, something along the lines of "It could be sml3d, Cubic Ninja (and something else, I forget)" He has been teasing it for months now, and got an awful amount of flack for pulling the release date when the n3DS was announced the same week he was planning to originally launch it, I've been following it for a good long while now and Smea doesn't seem the type to announce a false game, but you never know.

Amazon update, only one company on there selling it now.... £65!!!! Really wish I had woke up earlier today now, grrrrr.

Time to raid Cash Converters/CEX/the bin.

Tried them all this morning, left the house at 8:30, was in twon by 9:10, Cash Convertors did provide me with Pokemon Soul Silver ( Unboxed) for a tenner, so shifting that will cover the parking fee and my petrl costs, but no Cubic Ninja, tried BOTH Game stores, nothing there, and CEX had nowt either, checking the CEX website says it is £2.50 , but there isn't a single one in stock in the whole country, online or in store, guess it must have been a really unpopular game until this morning.

Think I have managed to secure one from Gameseek of all places, one of my buds on an alt forum ordered a few and is letting me ( if they arrive that is) have one at cost, £7.50, hurrah :)

Fingers crossed, I wanna play 3DNES :)

They just cancelled his order, FFS!

Relieved that I was able to get my order in for the game early this morning, as I was lucky to grab a copy for £7 and it has been dispatched. Prices have gone crazy now.

Now need to wait til the 22nd for Smealums information.

Where did you manage to get it from ?

whats so great about having homebrew? the 3DS already offers plenty of features, and other stuff you can do better on a phone or computer.

*raises shields*

Some folk like to tinker with stuff but aye, not much point in it. The Vita, that would be a nice platform for homebrew.

Received my copy of Cubic Ninja this morning, lets hope the information on Saturday is decent :)

Hurrah :)

3D NES emulator is already a thing, plus Smea has been working on 3DCraft, a Minecraft-a-like for it, I am one of the few people I know who actually enjoys the 3D effect and get's on alright with it.

Vita hacking is a thing, currently they have broken into the sandboxed PSP emulator via userland and Kernal explots, but nothing that a hacked PSP can not do.

there has been some progress on native hardware exploits via a web kit vulnerability, but that is early days yet and only for Vita's running 3.18 fw and below, hence my PS+ sub not being renewed until I got my second Vita, wanna see what they can do with that thing.

Region free is my great white hope.

It is a possibility that this "could" be worked on, there was talk of it a while back, so keep those fingers crossed :P

i bought a copy of lego indiana jones to hack a friends wii (was £20 which was pretty good at the time). I ended up lending it to a few friends so they could hack their wii. By the time i got it back, a whole bunch of games could be used.. ended up just keeping it, it has been used since so it's not a big deal but i had originally planned to sell it after the one wii.

Smealum has released the Homebrew Launcher early:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-11-21-student-homebrew-nintendo-3ds

I've got the system to work fine and it boots to the four folders fine and they run OK.

But can not work out how to make any SNES and NES emulators I have put on the SD card to run. it either does not show them or can not find the boot.3dsx file and crashes.

You need to dowbload "blargSnes" and "Game Yob" You can follow links on the release page to them.

For blargsnes, I downloaded the whole folder, on my SD Card, I put the Blarg folder inside the "3ds" folder, where all the other files folders are ( yeti3d, 3dcraft etc)

I then made a "snes" folder at the root of my SD card and stuck a few roms in there.

For Game Yob, I had to put the .3dsx file directly into the "3ds" folder, if it was in it's own folder, it was not seen by the HBL, which makes it look untidy when I go into my SD :P

You will need a rom folder at the root of your SD called "gb"

I have no idea if naming folders in caps etc makes a difference, it is too soon to know all the little foibles of this yet, what I can say is that Chrono Trigger doesn't / didn't run when I tried it, Mario World and Link to the Past play and look great, once the Dev get's sound sorted out ( there was a limitation in the Emu originally as Gateway couldn't access some sound processor or what not, that the Ninjhax exploit can now grant, so it will be coming).

The controls feel great, if this can gain some traction and get a decent amount of older emu stuff working, I will be ditching my JXD 7800b.

Thanks blargSnes now appears, but the only game I could get to load [with no sound] was Super Mario World.

Going to pick up Lucas' 2DS (a replacement for the 3DS XL he lost last year) today.

Mario Kart 7, Super Smash Bros, Link Between Worlds (on the offer thing).

So happy to be back on the Nintendo train.

Didn't know about that offer, just been and looked it up. I've got an XL coming next week, so it's worth picking up Pokemon to get Zelda for free! Will have to set up a new club nintendo account as I have registered an XL before, but thanks for mentioning this! I really want to like Smash Bros but I just have never been able to get into it.

Apparently they're a bit gash.

The Gameboy one is fine and SNES runs nicely ( when it likes the game you've chosen) but when you exit to choose a new game it hangs.

So far I've tried Chrono Trigger ( failed to run) , Link to the Past ( plays and looks lovely) and Secret of Mana (crashed at Squaresoft logo).

Found an unofficial build of BlargSnes WITH SOUND!! :)

Nes is on the way apparently.
