With this free game with mario kart 8 i am going to get windwaker, i kinda want to play it again but my daughter really wants to play a zelda game - she has said ocarina is the one she is after the most - proud dad here!!

Anyhoo, is the 3ds game a good conversion as i know nothing of it - maybe wrong place to ask but i could get it on VC or GC if not??

I just played through it on the 3DS - very nice. They've made some minor changes to the Water Temple to make it less face-punchingly maddening. They've also added some stones that look similar to the clocks that give hints as to what to do next if you get stuck.

Graphically it's amazing, it's the Zelda you remember rather than the reality. I always struggled to play Ocarina of Time on any controller that wasn't the N64 pad but I didn't find it too difficult to adapt. The buttons for the Ocarina still tripped me up and weren't as easy to remember for me (or I'm just stubborn) but it was fantastic and I really enjoyed going back to it. I really hope we get Majora's Mask 3D revealed at E3 because it'd be perfect with the engine they already have.

Having played my 3DS for a few weeks and having my boys 3DS XLs here as well, I can categorically state that in my opinion, the original 3DS is the better machine. I defy anyone to argue with me. The only plus on the XL is the battery life. The screen on the XL has very visible lines across it, as it puts the image on the bigger screen. The original is far more portable as well. My 8 year old put my 3DS in his pocket when we went out the other day, as his XL was too big. The games look better, and the machine has a more refined look and feel on the original.

Don't want a war, but this is just my opinion. When peeps were pushing me to an XL, I'm glad I went classic.

I'm quite impressed at the tonal shift from "My point is inarguable!" to "Don't argue with me guys, it's just an opinion!" within the course of a single post ;)

And I'm a big fan of the assumption that someone is going to flip out about the fact XL wasn't for him.

I noticed that myself. But I love my tiny 3DS. I get why people love the XL, but the original hits so many sweet spots for me

When I asked on multiple forums, everybody praised the XL, and said I would be mad to get an original 3DS. In my opinion, they were wrong.

And I am a sucker for Ltd Edition machines and I passed up the 3D Zelda OOT console only because of the size :( as I knew id never play it.

Love the look and stuff but for playing the XL is the only one for me.

My local store has an amazing, green, Yoshi 3DSXL in the cabinet that I keep eyeing up. I know I don't need it but.....
