Honestly the whole new puzzle thing is unreliable now. They seem to come randomly now rather than according to any schedule. I got one that I thought was new a month ago but it slotted in about half way through my puzzles!

Though a quick Google suggests it is new for the West. So...good game, Nintendo.

Ugh this region shite is frustrating.

Which ones? I'm enjoying my 3DS a lot, but have wondered more than once whether the 3D was worth bothering with

Bravely Default makes very good use of the 3D. At any point when wandering around you can zoom the camera right out to see the entire area, then as soon as you move the analog stick it zooms back into your character. It's hard to describe why but it's a lovely effect, giving you a great sense of scale and really making you appreciate the art.

It's true, though, that after a few minutes with the 3D on in most games you just forget that it's there; there's only a few instances I can think of in the games I've played where there are things rushing towards the screen at you, etc. I find that it makes the games look prettier and smooths out jaggy edges, though, so I tend to keep it on.

The earlier 3DS games tended to have extreme depth to the 3D - Pilotwings and Ridge Racer for example. Newer games tend to have milder 3D.

I tend to always use the 3D, I like the effect and Ridge, Dead or Alive and Ace Combat wouldn't be the same without it.

I hardly ever switch the 3D off, unless on public transport.

In no particular order:

Pilotwings (which is ace and should be bought)

Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D and Revelaitons (sic)

Monster Hunter - the ability to gauge distance is particularly useful in the underwater missions

Donkey Kong Country 3D

Luigi's Mansion 2

Fire Emblem

Super Mario 3D World - Jumping down ledges and up out of the screen in the overhead view blew my mind

Ocarina of Time - some of the effects leap out of the screen

Dead or Alive - knockers

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition - Makes the characters really solid and real

After having been to Vegas and seeing some fruit machines with superb 3D overlays (Ghostbusters and Wizard of Oz were amazing), I really hope that the tech becomes more mainstream as it's really impressive when implemented well.

I haven't got the new puzzle yet. Sadness. Pretty much finished the StreetPass stuff outside of that outside of StreetPass Squad, which I can rarely be bothered playing, and StreetPass Mansion's insane Solve All Puzzle Boxes request.

I hope Smash Bros does something interesting with StreetPass
