No one else downloaded sub wars?? Been having a short play. It's weird! Very cranky with some pretty uneven graphics. It's like a odd mash up of genres. As mentioned in the direct its trying to take its cues from fps's but controls wise it's so fiddly. There seems some depth to it with crew members n stuff and even morse code signals!? Bizarre. Will have to try it some more.

From what I've played however they've really missed a trick making it quite action based. I'd have much preferred a sort of slimmed down Silent Service with you trying to creep up on other players subs or convoys. Now that would have been cool!

I like strategy RPGs.

I like bizarre Japanese crossovers.

I hated the demos.

If you don't have Fire Emblem, get it.

If you do, just play Fire Emblem again.

Steel Diver requires players to use Morse Code to communicate with each other, it's proof that Nintendo really don't want us to communicate with each other. Utterly utterly bizarre decision. It's hardly going to help build a community around the game.

By registering your (existing Wii U, or a new) NNID on your 3DS. Nintendo emailed everyone, it was reported on every games site, and was a 3DS notification. It was also mentioned here several times, and Nintendo's twitter and Facebook accounts have been pimping it daily for two months, and was part of at least one Nintendo Direct.

Oh, I did that on the day I got the notification on the 3DS. How do you get the code...email?
