I was going to ask about those streetpass games.

I work from home in a quiet village. I'll never be passing any humans with slumbering consoles in their pockets.

So that renders them useless, right?

How many people here use it, and do you think it's viable that we all set our homepass relay MAC addresses to the same thing so we essentially streetpass each other?

Streetpass has become completely charmless for me now. I used to get passes from all over the world, now I just get English ones imaginatively saying 'Hey' or even better 'hello'. Wish there was a way to turn off those Mcdonalds relays..

I've not bothered setting up a home relay because I don't want to cheat!

Although I do have 3 kids with 3/2DSes in the house so we get regular passes from each other. I like the fact that a trip into town is virtually guaranteed to give us all a full set of ten strangers too.

@ StephenM - you can still play the games even if you never get any passes, just "buy" people every day with the coins you get from walking around with your 3DS in your pocket.

Surely this will leave your Internet connection open for abuse? I'm sure I read that WEP encryption is fairly easy to crack.

Depends how you have it set up. Also, there's nobody round here. And you don't leave it running all the time.

I prefer pullblox actually. I never bought Fallblox as it was a bit more complicated and less fun.

Anyway, if anyone wants to try it, set your relay to this mac and SSID:

It's running here now.

I'd probably choose Pullblox too. It's a little more straightforward and a perfectly put together little puzzle game. Fallblox can be a little more fiddly but it's definitely more difficult so can provide a more interesting challenge once it gets going.

Probably by two favourite eshop games.

Also, I'm not really into 3DS relay spoofing since I already get too many from the official relays (around 30 yesterday) and when it's not from someone you've genuinely passed it's not as exciting. They're just little tokens to play the games with now, just like the coins. I preferred it when I'd see the same names cropping up now and again.

And even the demos of Bravely Default and Fire Emblem are teasing me, trying to lure me away.

Not to mention my urge to buy Mario 3D Land instantly.

And the feeling I should go back and catch up on Phoenix Wright, because I've only played the first one.

Thing is, if I don't wander round Norwich, I get nothing.

FWIW, since I set up a relay, I've really got back into Streetpass Quest, having not touched it for over a year.

Setting up a relay sounds tricky, even though I'm fairly technically-minded.

Doesn't look like there's a way to do it from my Macbook Air, given that it connects wirelessly (and not through a cable).

So guess I'll just start walking the streets...

Also, speaking of video (neat link there)- why are so few videos of games on the eshop actually in 3D?

Because they monitor everybody and realised nobody ever switches 3D mode on. I always find the on/off 3D in the videos too much for my eyes to handle anyhow.
