A minor system update for Nintendo 3DS has gone live. Version 7.1.0-15U is virtually identical to a previous update, version 7.1.0-14U, adding further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments to enhance the user experience.

The last major system update to release for 3DS, version 7.0.0-13U, brought a number of features to the handheld, including support for Nintendo Network IDs and Miiverse.

Nobody mentioned the Picross games from the eShop, they're excellent if you like puzzle games.

It makes me wish they'd put DS games on the shop: Slitherlink, PicPic, 3D Picross are all games I'd play through again.

Looking for a RMD for 3DS puzzly games for my avidly 3DS playing girlfriend, she's completed the latest Picross and needs something new to play. Has tried Crush3D but didn't like it, otherwise she hasn't played any 3DS puzzle games. Has loads of the well known DS puzzle games. I do realise that the variety of games available in the puzzle genre is quite lacking on the 3DS compared to its predecessor, unfortunately.

It definitely isn't. Especially if you take the billion DSi puzzle games on the eShop into account!

Try Pushblox and Fallblox. Art of Balance. That Mario and Donkey Kong 3D puzzle game.

Absolutely loving my 3DS at the moment - everything about A Link Between Worlds is an absolute joy, and I have Partners in Time waiting for me when I'm eventually done. I keep consider trading in my Zelda 3DS for an XL, as I'm getting terrible hand cramps after an hour or so - wise, or a foolish waste of money?

The XL is well worth it, but that Zelda 3DS is worth a bit of cash. Shove it in the box and punt it on ebay when you want the cash.

I'm a major fan of the series [Mario and Luigi] and have played each installment to death, but this one bored my socks off. Definitely outstays its welcome. I'm FINALLY approaching the final battle (at least, I think) but it has taken me ages.

Yeah, just finished it and it was a little lacklustre - the world itself wasn't that enjoyable to explore; I reckon the button timings were a tad forgiving; and few of the bad guys proved a challenge - especially once you had the Gear that granted immunity for 6 turns of attacks (there was a also a badge combo that did the same). Think I did it in 50h with 95% Excellent hit rate.

Boss fights were tedious - I think it's because they kept taking control away from me, so there was 10% actual attacking; 90% waiting for that one cue to dodge or counterattack, watching some setup animation, Luigi chasing the bad guy, or reading the bloody script. And Bowser was a chore.

Some of the 3D attacks - both Bros and Boss - were lovely to look at, mind.

I bought a 3DS XL at the start of the year and it is indeed ace.

As this is my first 3DS (or indeed any version DS) I am looking at getting the Ambassador games onto it (particularly the GBA games for obvious reasons). My plan is to buy a second hand 3DS which has them and do a system transfer to my 3DS XL.

I have already purchased games from the eShop onto my 3DS XL so does this sound feasible?

Will it move over the stuff on the used 3DS and leave my existing stuff untouched?

Apparently you can't system transfer onto a machine with a linked Nintendo ID (which I linked last week.) so I will need to format the system memory in my existing 3DS. Will I lose everything I have already bought?

I'd just stick with your current 3DS as you'll lose everything on it and won't be able to re-download anything to it or update the NNID.

The ambassador games can be picked up for peanuts in their original formats and mildly pricey on the eShop so I wouldn't worry too much about them.

The GBA games aren't available on the eShop unfortunately.

I thought if you did a system transfer *to* the 3DS with the Ambassador games on, that worked? The games would be gone from the Ambassador 3DS but you could download them then from the eShop. You could then transfer back?

Almost certain someone here did that.

I got a Monster Hunter XL because I wanted the black case, and I was able to transfer my ambassador games over. After the system transfer, MH showed up in my purchased games list for redownloading. That was all pre-NNID though, I'm not sure what's changed since then.

While convoluted that does make some sense.

I want to do this (I want to play the original Wario Ware on my 3DS XL) but I reckon I may only get one chance to get it right so I need to make sure I know what's going to happen. Also I've spent a fair bit on games already (plus Super Mario Land 3D from the offer) which I need to make sure I don't lose.

If this works (and any further thoughts on that would be much appreciated) how do the Ambassador games appear in the eShop for redownload?
