In light of all this cheap game kerfuffle, I'd like to just give a shout-out to the oft-forgotten Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.

I went back to it last night and it's loads of fun and just £9. Any new 3DS owners should buy that AND Resi: Revelaitons (sic)

Those Wind Waker stories on Nintendo video have been pretty shit, except for the last one, which has Tingle and his gimp crew as the stars of the story. Pretty neat, and I never did take a good look at Tingle tower it seems...

It's brilliant isn't it? I didn't get too far in the Wii version so I'm looking forward to actually completing this one!

I also bought Dream Team Bros for cheap which is just as brilliant. The Mario & Luigi series is one of my all time favourites and this one looks like it'll be just as good as the rest.

I love the 3DS. Definitely one of the best consoles ever.

and here's another thing - it might sound a bit stupid, but, it's my boys birthday today - so he had Pokemon X and Lego City (which I got for 6 quid from the sale!) on his 2DS. What was really nice was just setting them up to sleep download over night, and then gave him his 2DS this morning with two little 'present' icons to open.

His face lit up!

Donkey Kong is excellent. Really smart platforming, some excellent level design, some frustratingly difficult sections, beautiful graphics. Tropical Freeze has gone from 'meh' to the Day One list.

I'm a major fan of the series and have played each installment to death, but this one bored my socks off. Definitely outstays its welcome. I'm FINALLY approaching the final battle (at least, I think) but it has taken me ages.

I hope you enjoy it more than I did. I'm persisting solely out of pride and because I can't stand the thought of haven given up right before the end.

When I first got to the very last boss I was a pretty low level so found it pretty much impossible to beat. I was pretty bored of the game by that point to.

Then I went back to level up and actually started to enjoy the game again more when I was a higher level. It made the final boss easy too. In the end I did enjoy it.
