I turned my 3DS on to make a start of Zelda ALBW. For some reason loaded Attack of the Friday Monsters instead. That was two hours ago and I've just stopped playing.

For a game which is essentially (so far) nothing but a story with a tacked on card collecting/fighting mini game, it's so charming and hard to put down.

Witch and Hero is terrible.

Also got Which and Hero, as I'm a sucker for 8-bit graphics (I guess that explains why I was so addicted to the excellent Mutant Mudds, as it had both the 8-bit aesthetic and the excellent platforming) but I'm either not getting it or it's a bit shitty: you have to defeat enemies by ramming into them, but ramming into them also depletes your own health bar (which can lead to fainting temporarily). It seems to be an exercise in frustration and stress (as you have constantly run around to bump into the enemy closest to the witch).

The hero doesn't take damage when hitting enemies from behind so the idea is to encircle them where possible, juggle and manage the threat to the witch by judging the baddies varying speeds. Plus killing and collecting enough to keep the witch in a near permanent powered up state, then directing and switching her spells and so on. It's very basic but by no means a bad game, it has a couple of unfortunate difficulty spikes that the only past is to grind (level 11 is the worst - and you get given a superweapon right after ) but it's very moreish. I played it today for 2 hours...

Well, I've done the story and watched the credits, and it's now Saturday. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. Talking to everyone sometimes changes the topic of conversation, and I've been round and round in circles with that and nothing new happens.

I was loathe to do so but checked GameFAQs. There's no FAQ or walkthrough, but the forum suggests that everyone is stuck.

There's at least one guy who has done it, apparently, but he doesn't know how.

Yesterday I reached Saturday too, after two or three long sittings - it's a really cute and quirky story and I kept wanted to find out what happens next. Which episodes have you yet to complete? I'm left with episode 4 but I think it's a matter of collecting all the glims/cards. Also I'm not sure about all this 'use the same spell' or spell editing business, whatever the impact is. Another episode required a combination of using the right topic of conversation with the right townsfolk. I think I hit the correct order by chance as I wasn't entirely following it!

Now I'm currently addicted to SteamWorld Dig.

Top Tip:

USA 3DSXL chargers are 110v only, not 110-240v

I just plugged mine in here in the UK to charge it up and wondered why it wasn't doing anything. Hope I haven't blown it up.

My Mum (lol) works at John Lewis so she's getting me a UK charger to test it out tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I just assumed it would be 110-240 like literally every other modern charger in the entire world.

I only ended up 'upgrading' to an XL because I left my old 3DS on a chair at the airport in Dallas, this is costing me a fortune

I literally had to buy a charger in Heathrow airport because my DS Lite one very much was not 110V happy. So if some of them are, they're not the ones I encountered.

My DS Lite is a US model, but I use the PSU in a UK socket, with a travel adapter.
