So I'm selling my 3DS. I would like to keep all the downloaded content for the buyer to use, but at the same time transfer the Mii Plaza and Mii data onto an SD card for later use when I pick one up again in the future. Is that possible?

No. You can transfer data, but it's all or nothing.

I'm itching for 3D Shinobi.

I always preferred the original Megadrive iteration but never did complete the late-gen entry that M2 have developed for the 3DS. Including separate button mapping for shirukens / close attacks / guarding sounds like a masterstroke.

This Sega/M2/Price-of-a-pint triumvirate has led to a chronic take-my-money scenario I cannot control.

These have to be the best versions of these games anywhere, handheld or otherwise.

My right shoulder button has stopped working on my 3DS. It's been intermittent for the last few months, but now seems to have given up completely. Is it worth trying to repair it myself or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new shiny XL? I have had it since pretty much launch and it does get used almost every day.

This - I upgraded to an XL recently and I really really love it. The battery life is much better and it's far more comfortable and DEM SCREENS

As Sprite said, battery life isn't that much of an improvement. I think it's a tiny bit better in standby, but frankly I don't really notice any significant difference between the XL and the old 3DS when it comes to the battery. By far the console's weakest point, when played it drains like a motherfucker, and even in sleep mode it's depleting pretty fast.

Apart from that, you definitely want the XL over the original. It's a much better and nicer machine and the big screens make a big difference and the 3D gets better too.
