Ooh, I'll be buying me some Afterburner! Though with Galaxy Force II already on the system, I can wait patiently - we've already got one of the best into-the-screen shooters on here, after all.

Alas, I fear the odds of Namco finally bringing an arcade-perfect Burning Force out on 3DS are slim to none :(

Did this with our iMac and the instructions on GBATemp, worked a treat. Got two sets of people from OZ and the US :) You have to be able to set your Mac address for it to work, but otherwise pretty simple. Dunno if I'll leave iot though.

I dunno, be careful what you wish for. I completed em recently and all the fun has gone out of seeing the green light now. What with the macdonalds relay stuff, it got really easy to get maximum hits each time. Guess I should get some more sp games but nothing has taken my fancy.

I don't like the relays giving StreetPasses further away since it takes the fun out of knowing you've passed someone as well as the excitement of collecting some new country or region for the map. It feels a little impersonal. It's nice to get some guaranteed hits though I guess. I'd probably appreciate it all more if Glasgow weren't already pretty decent for StreetPasses.

The StreetPass games you can download are pretty good actually. If I were going to recommend just one I'd say maybe StreetPass Squad since it's actually a decent wee simple shooter where the favourite colour of the Mii you pass dictates the type of weapon they give you, or StreetPass Mansion which is a simple RPG-lite (developed by Yuji Naka's Prope studio) where each Mii gives you a tetris block of their colour to place on the mansion's floor; creating large rooms of the same colour gives you chests with items and weapons and transitioning from one colour of tile to another gives a chance of a monster encounter where victory gains experience for your equipped weapon.

I've definitely gotten the most fun out of Mansion though perhaps only because I have to invest more concentration in Squad than my commute will normally allow so I tend to skip it entirely.

The other two are fun enough though. Garden is definitely a little slow to develop but more tasks and cosmetic options open up as you grow more unique plants. It's still basically a case of planting a seed then watching as each StreetPassed Mii helps it grow by watering it. It's a bit slow, too, with simple reminders of the game's basics repeated too often but it's all lovely and charming.

StreetPass Battle is a game I did enjoy at first. It's a simple rock paper scissors affair where luck initially factors in your victory as well as strategically balancing your army's size to counter your opponent. Later you get the ability to spy for 2 play coins which completely removes both the luck and the strategy, as well as the fun. If you're just looking to get all the plaza tickets for cute little Mii hats though, it's probably the one to get (though a couple of the tickets are a real grind).

Anyway. Yeah. Get them all.

Glasgow has 600k people as a city. What about little Timmy who lives anywhere else in Britain? (or the arse end of no where).

I don't mind the option to spy in Streetpass Battle, although it does make everything too easy. It's the emperor battles that drain all the fun out of the game. It's pure luck. I lost 2.5 million men on him yesterday. Fucker.

I've lost to him three times in a row. He's a dick. I can tell there's a way to predict his next move but my old brain can't figure it out quickly enough.

Sometimes he uses an A > A > A > B > B pattern or sometimes he goes A > B > C > A > B

Basically if you know his pattern, you can lose the first two rounds and win the next three. If you're going to lose, just quit out using the home menu. Pretty sure you only get a telling off and don't lose (m)any troops.

Does anyone know how the pricing works on Amazon (out of curiosity).

I was looking for a 2DS for my daughter a few weeks ago and it was £109 or so on Amazon but they had the XL for £130ish. So I ordered one of those.

Next time I looked the XL had shot up to £180. The other day (Saturday) XL's were £125 apart from the red one which was £180. Yesterday they were all (standard ones) at £125. Today they're at £150. Normal 3DS at £144.

Noticed the FF slip case art book go from the usual £40 down to 20ish this week, and seen it for 50ish in the past too. Surprisingly glad I waited forever to get that thing. Though does make me wonder how Amazon does it.

Unless it arrives broken or something.

It's odd that we haven't had any new puzzles considering we've had new zelda, Phoenix, harvest moon and bravely default not to mention any recent WiiU games :(

I've still not finished all the ones I have but I like having more puzzles to fill in. When I got a special mii pass from the chap that worked on zelda, I was convinced he would have a piece for it.

Bravely Default is still very good if you have even a passing interest in JRPGs.

Yes, of course. It won't connect until you do that properly.

I was using a spoofer on my phone but that didn't work, so I modified the MAC address in the config file on my phone with a HEX editor instead, which spoofed it and connected me up. No StreetPasses though.

I don't get this either. They're piss easy to knock up so I don't understand why Nintendo don't just get some guys to bang out a few new ones every other month. I'm sure they'd have a lot of takers within the company willing to do em in their free time even!

I've said it before too but giving you some form of reward for completing puzzle pictures would be cool too, even if it was earning a badge or something for your mii or even miiverse posts.

It's not doing the MAC address correctly then. If you just set the SSID it connects fine. If you spoof the MAC correctly it streetpasses too.

Unless you're not leaving your 3DS in sleep? If you don't it'll try to connect to your normal wireless connection in preference to streetpassing...

First off I tried with just changing the SSID whilst the unit was in sleep. I got the blue flash and once opening it I saw the Nintendo Zone app there. Upon opening it it was giving me various errors after trying to get into the zone. I searched online and found these to be MAC address issues which I tried resolving with the wifi tools the guide suggested. This yielded the same results so I went in and rewrote the MAC address on my phone the hard way. This connects me to the zone finally and I get the little web page there, which has spooky non-active buttons.

It can't be attempting to connect to my usual wireless connection because the only one I have set up at home is my phone's wireless hotspot, which I sacrifice in order to get the attwifi open network working.

I did it with a Raspberry Pi in the end. Had a billion hits now.

Out of curiosity how are you checking the Streetpass hits?

I've been using Mac Cycle on Windows 7 for a while now but I have to make a bit of guesswork when it reaches the maximum of 10 passes per MAC address so I'm always checking it basically. Does this work in the same way for you?
