Is Galaxy Force II on 3DS the arcade version, or the not-so-stellar MegaDrive version?

Been reading on gaf that's it's a port of the enhanced PS2 version which had much higher res sprites. It still runs at a silky 60fps, pretty impressive.

You can unlock the original arcade gfx by completing the game once apparently.

Has Afterburner been announced as the next port? Gaf seem to think so. Yes please.

dusted off my 3ds and off we go on bravely default, sucker for that wonderful artwork.

I have seen almost nothing of the game but it's the artwork that has convinced me to buy it (and for all the praises of being like Final Fantasy of old.) Can't wait to play it.

This one went completely under my radar, but Youtube videos are looking good :) Time to visit the eShop methinks!

I found it took a little while for the game to reveal its magic, once it does it is very compelling. It almost has a Dark Souls-ish kind of structure. There's a PC version now too, but it is especially well suited to the 3DS.

I saw that Batman 3DS game yesterday, is it any good? I remember looking forward to it being some sort of metroidvania game, but then everyone got disappointed by origins being buggy and this seemed to just parp into existence without anybody actually noticing.

Not sure which games in the next set have been announced - only Afterburner, I think?

I expect Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage 2 are pretty much a given though. Outrun seems likely. Maybe Super Thunderblade? Enduro Racer? POWER DRIFT!?!?

Only a week before I can buy up all of the Sega games,* can't wait. Do you happen to know what the games that are out in Japan but not yet here are, deKay?

(also, it's interesting to see what a difference in attitude Sega have to some teams: Sega release more-than-arcade-perfect releases of their multiplatform games to 3DS, Konami release the fucking NES version of Life Force)

*Altered Beast and Streets of Rage notwithstanding - one rubbish, one only really good in multiplayer
