Fire Emblem for me, I loved my time with it. I'll probably start another playthrough as soon as I finish Zelda. I found it a bit overwhelming to start with (I'm used to SRPGs but never played a Fire Emblem) but once I had a handle on all of the various options and systems it was a total joy.

I think I clocked about 35 hours in the end at the second hardest difficulty, but could easily have spent more time with the streetpass teams and I think I missed a couple of the optional missions. What's great about it is that you don't have to do any of the out of battle team management stuff if you don't want to. In fact the whole game is really great at giving you loads of different ways to enjoy it.

Looks like I'm getting a 3DS XL from my kids fro chrimbo which I am pretty pleased about. Especially having never owned a DS let alone a 3ds :). Mario 3D looks like its free when you register, right? And is Ocarina of time available for download from Nintendo? Boxed copies seem to be a bit rare.

You have to register it along with one of the following games

Can you do that? The other guy said it was tied to the machine I think?

If you do a system transfer where both machines have games linked to them, the accounts are merged on the destination machine and the source machine has it's download list erased from it.

Right so Super Hang On.. just in case I'm missing something. Can someone tell me if it's possible to configure the sensitivity setting of the circle pad? Cos I ain't seeing it and I'm finding it impossible to reliably execute half tilts and it's ruining the game for me! :( Otherwise they seem to have included the kitchen sink for everything else except the most important bloody option.. controlling the damn bike!!

I'm totally shit at Super Hang On, but like a proper arcade game - I keep coming back for more.

Beginner is before Junior, yeah?

Can barely get to Stage 4 on Beginner.

The dead zone's too big with the circle pad, although I do use that method.

Tried the gyroscope - surprisingly great control, you can zip through all the gaps with accuracy - but rather have 3D pumped up.

Space Harrier - can't remember from 20 odd years ago - there's nothing more complex to the scoring system than shoot the shit out of everything and move out the way, is there?

Thanks for the info guys. Bah that's spoilt it for me a bit. How could they have missed something so rudimentary!? Crazy. The other methods are useable but the circle pad is obviously the method which should be the easiest to implement.

Just to explain what they've done, they've made the mid tilt activate only when you push the pad to within say 50%-53% Go over that and you activate a full tilt. Go under it and you don't activate any tilt at all. Utter madness!!

i've gone from not really wanting a handheld to "maybe i'll get a 2ds with pokemon" to "the 3ds is only a bit extra maybe i'll get one used" to buying a brand new 3ds XL with mario kart to get the free mario land 3D game at alot more than it was on black friday and i feel a bit ripped off but i'm too impatient to wait until after christmas, used £50 amazon vouchers to soften the blow though and i now own a handheld for the first time since i was a kid.. when it arrives! will make doing my exercise a lot less boring on the indoor bicycle and such during the cold months

well and truly plunged

Pokemon is excellent as well. The 3DS has quietly built up absolutely the best line up of games this year... Pretty much exclusively 1st party as well.

Another vote for Steamworld Dig. Really enjoyed that. Hydroventure and Crimson Shroud are worth your time as well.

I have not played that many of this year's games on the 3DS really, mainly due to a crippling Persona 4 Golden addiction. I got most of them though and can't wait to get into them. Nintendo has been awfully generous with all their free game promotions too, I just can't keep up with all the handheld goodness on both platforms.

So I picked up a 3DS last week in the amazon sale - been super busy and only just realised I didn't get any games.

If I get Fire Emblem now from the online store (or a Game download code) is it tied to the SD card in some way or can it be moved later - basically I only have a 2gb SD card just now, Fire Emblem will take most of that... I would probably order a bigger SD card but I need something to play now dammit.

EDIT: Just seen you can redownload on device.

Transfer old card contents to PC and then on to new card.
