Aye, but Sonic 1 MS > Sonic 1 GG - albeit nowhere near as significantly as with Sonic 2. Stupid Game Gear aspect ratio...

Either way though, certainly Sonic 1 8-bit is the better game than Sonic 1 16-bit - well worth it for anyone who never played them in the first place!

Aspect ratio was the same (or close enough), it was the low resolution that was the problem.

Low resolution made it ugly, but it was the aspect ratio that was the problem with Sonic 2's most infamous difference (the first boss) - the game played in the Master System's special 'widescreen' resolution [256x192], so the Game Gear not only shrunk the game, it cropped it significantly.

And so this became this (sorry for the rubbish screenshots - particularly the first being an uprezzed, filtered emulation as it is, they were the first examples I could find online).

They updated it in the UK last week so that we supposedly get the last six people from each relay point now like they do in the US.

I wandered about Glasgow all day on Monday and got one, step up your fucking game people.

11 streetpass hits on a brief half hour in Edinburgh centre today. Proof that Edinburgh >>> Glasgow I think.

One in Glasgow again today, this city used to be a goldmine.

I got six at the same time in Troon earlier so the relay limit has been upped in the UK now, but they were all from England so either it's being exploited or it's a bit confused at the minute. I suppose they could all have travelled north to a scenic coastal town for a meetup or something but that seems unlikely.

So, I did have a zelda xl preordered. But, after thinking it looked a bit daft with the zelda symbol being off centre (TBH, the original zelda 3ds looks much better) I decided to cancel it and take advantage of the Argos offer. It's great to be back in the land of 3ds owning after my wife stole my pikachu xl to play animal crossing on (which she plays on for hours and hours and hours).

And the new P Layton game is amazing. Much better than last years rather uninspiring effort. It even looks great in 3d.

Wish they'd tie each sp puzzle completion into something. I dunno, expose the details to games so that you could say earn a few more rupees in Zelda etc. Something to make the puzzles a little more worthwhile. Even if they made completing each one give you a badge to earn for your miiverse character, which would be visible to others. AC does that and it works well.

My Pikachu XL came back from being repaired by Nintendo yesterday. The right speaker was making some distorted and crackling sounds, and luckily the warranty was still valid until 5th December. Nintendo have now given me another one year warranty, which I'm really pleased about. They also tightened up the floppy hinge as much as they could, which I hadn't even mentioned when I sent it in, but it was nice of them to do it.

Sorry for the noob questions. If I get my GF a 3DS with Zelda tomorrow and she registers it after 27th Nov she gets Mario for free? Is that right? How do I go about getting it and will it fit on the 3DS without any other memory cards? Cheers.

So I'm planning on picking up a 3DS soon. When people say registering your 3DS, is that something you can do whenever, or does it happen when you set up the 3DS? Just wondering so I don't occidentally miss out on the offer.
