Hey all, I finished A Christmas Carol over the weekend and enjoyed it immensely. I had hoped to continue on a theme of classic Christmas tales, but couldn't really find any.

I have Skipping Christmas by John Grisham which is a fun novella, but was looking for something akin to Dickens' masterpiece and came up short.

Any recommendations? Preferably, old enough to be downloaded for free! :)

Though their actual content is hardly Christmassy, MR James's ghost stories were largely written for reading aloud on Christmas Eve. "Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad" is a famously excellent one. Annoyingly, one of the free volumes has been taken down from the Amazon store, but you can get the lot for about 77p.
