If I kill them all, then use the aged feather, does that count?

I think so, looks like the respawning limit it's not tied to your deaths, only theirs.

I've checked and the limit is 15 deaths. That first Alonne knight is going to be your friend.

Yeah my run to that boss became a ghost town, which should tell you how well I was getting on with the boss. Superb fight though, possibly my favourite in the game. You better be bowing to the Sir whenever he gives your character his little nod of respect.

Or wail on him like fuck, two-handed while his guard is briefly down, either / or.

I just cleared the area slowly. Then I could run to the boss. Took him down in half a dozen goes once I could get to him quickly. Decent fight, but pretty easy once you know to just roll to his right every time he attacks. So all I have left is the big bastard toxic dragon, the Smelter Demon and whatever that weird shit is in the frozen area through the coffin slide.

Did you use the Benny Hill tactic?

Of course. Run around, hit the archer a few times, drop in the water, repeat until  archer dead, then just backed off from the other two and got strikes in when they missed. Eventually, just had the big guy left and went to town. Felt good at that point.

Well done. Even using it I can't get him. He's a shit.

Thanks. He even had one of the bloody shrines still lit so I had to keep him on one side of the arena as well.

I found that I could actually coax him into doing certain moves which were easy to roll through. Once he goes into flame mode, I just kept my distance and he would either do the charging stab or the leap attack, both of which are easy to roll around and hit him a couple of times afterwards. I then rolled away as far as I could because he would inevitably do the slow flaming sword arc or the fireballs, which again, were easier to dodge at a distance. He would then either charge or leap and so on. Very rarely he would do something different but nine times out of ten, he'll close the gap using those two moves. I didn't use a shield and just rolled through everything.

No problem... But if you get a spare ten minutes, I'm convinced we could do it. I really want to have a go at him without having to keep him to one side of the arena. Watching a video on YouTube, being able to use all the space makes it look so much simpler.

I'm sure I'll die in about ten seconds first time you summon me through being over confident and jumping around like an over exuberant puppy.

Always made me laugh in Demon’s Souls there any time Maneater would immediately cunt me off a bridge after being summoned by desperate players. I’d do the whole gambit at the fog door, salute emote, magically buff my katana, point emote at the fog door, really look the part in my armour and all that, inspire hope in my new ally, before getting twatted immediately into the abyss
