3 hours over 2 nights and Ancient Dragon still ain't dead.

Worse than that...is he optional!? I thought you bopped him then the credits rolled!

I just went to Throne of Want thinking "okay so this is end game", nope!

What the hell am I supposed to do?

Eat the dragon scale?

So confused.

No it tells you more explicitly than that somewhere.. Shit where was it?

How about I give you a gentle hint..

Do you remember the Forest of Giants that well? Did you not think there were some unusual usable objects there..?

I think I'm doing this game all wrong. At The Rotten and still pissing about with a +2 Drangleic sword. Still not got an ember for yon blacksmith and that other blacksmith still won't do anything. Surely I should be modding weapons and all sorts by now?

Level 158, 63 hours credits have rolled. That turned into an ordeal at the end due to my stupidity.

My mind was so made up that Ancient Dragon was the end boss due to stuff Emerald Herald says at the start of the aerie. Plus the structure of those two levels and y'know, fucking look at him. You talk to him, he gives you an item, you get a trophy for talking to him, he isn't agressive. I hit his leg three times and spend 3 hours and quite possibly triple figure attempts trying and failing to kill him. There's no trophy for killing him, there's no boss soul for killing him. He is an NPC. I am an idiot.

You know what happens after that it's pretty straight forward and keeping with the main game, although I had to google a few bits as I'm no good at anything remotely cryptic.

Better get used to running through (its pretty easy to do it without stopping to kill anything) as you'll be returning for a few reasons especially with your build.

Well I killed it

But why would I ever go back to a horrid place.

I'm at 3 grand souls...I'm assuming the last...

Is down the big pit in Majula? I've unlocked ladder man, but been afraid to go down...

Yes. He sells a few decent weapons, better arrows, and, more importantly, an unlimited supply of large titanite shards.

Oh and he lets me enchant stuff!

I did start again, and got to where I was in less than half the time, and with much less sadness. Obviously there's a lot to be said for knowing how things work, and where to go. The pursuer still took a long while, but he's dead now. I'm still refusing to be helped in co-op, but I will help others. Both bosses are super easy with allies.

I've got up to the trio at the lost bastille. Must be calm and not panic.

And kill the soldiers that cause so much trouble on the way there until they stop coming back.

There's a shortcut you can open that lets you bypass them completely on repeat attempts. :)

Speaking of Throne Watcher/Defender...

What happens if you kill the Giant Lord (and getting the key item) before them? Do you have to fight Watcher, Defender and Nashandra at the same time?

Then the first fight goes straight into the second. Any sunbros you have with you stick around for the second fight, too.

You fight them in succession

Dude just made me work hard for my sunlight medal:

Double Pursuers, clear the golem room with all the sentinels, then take on the double dragonriders. Phew!

Fun though and he sent me a nice message.

Just realised I've watched more hours of let's plays/speedruns of this (roughly 30-40 hrs or something ridiculous), than I usually spend playing the average game. Can't get enough of it.

I tried firing up Arkham City for a bit, but got lured back to DaS2 after a couple of hours.

I need to get a cheap PS3 so I can play Demon Souls I think - does it still hold up though? I sort of imagine it would feel pretty rough round the edges these days, but maybe not.

Have you been to Heides yet? No Man's Wharf? Going to Bastille straight after Forest of Giants can be tough man.
