Nintendo Wii U

That's the sale. You're basically getting the DLC free if you buy the main game.

I thought so - so pointless to current NSBU owners and a bad deal for those who don't given the original can be found everywhere for around 13-17 retail right now. Nintendo "discounts" sometimes are baffling. Thanks for clarifying.

My other half got a Wii U for Christmas so I'm new to this club.

We've both got a profile on the machine - hers is the default one and mine's like a secondary one, or something.

We both own old Wiis. Can we both transfer our WiiWare on to the same Wii U? Will the WiiWare games be available to all users on the Wii U, or would we have to select which profile they're attached to?

'Hopefully' should be over soon? What the fuck is wrong with you?

I'm several hours in and only have 1 weapon available out of several. Was worried that I was only about 20% into it. Surely nobody would want it to last 40 odd hours :)

AMD working on x86 or ARM chip for a "game console" to be introduced 2016

Dec 28, 2014 by RawmeatCowboy | Comments: 21 | Show/Hide

The following comments come from Devinder Kumar, SVP and CFO of AMD...

The other thing Ill mention in the semi-custom business which you probably picked up in the announcement that we had in October earnings call is weve been having a lot of interest in the semi-custom business, the semi-custom business is very unique, whereby it takes AMDs core IP, we use it across market segments, across customers, across products, customer interest has been high and we projected earlier this year that we would have at least one to two semi-custom design wins and Im pleased to report that we have those design wins, the work to design the products that has already started, the contract assigned and those parts get introduced in 2016.

We didnt say at which space it is in. Im not going to give too much detail. Ill say that one is x86 and one is ARM, and atleast one will be on gaming, right. But thats about as much as you going to get out me today, because the customers from the standpoint to be fair to them. It is their product. They launch it. They announce it and then just like the game console or the parts you find out that its AMDs APU thats been used in those products.

This could very well be a Nintendo-related platform. All we know is that it's gaming related. Nintendo has worked with AMD before, so seeing them collaborate in the future wouldn't be a stretch at all. Thanks to Autosaver for the heads up!

Seems this could be about Nintendo's new console/handheld. It mentions 2016 but potentially means it won't be seen in new hardware till 2017 or so (unless it's specifically nintendos new handheld.)

I got a Wii U for Christmas with Mario Kart 8 and SM3DW, I'm loving the system so far but I've got a curious issue with 3D World. I'm having a hard time with depth perception in it, I'm always (bit of an exaggeration) missing my targets whether it's ledges or koopas. I've done some googling to find others have had issues too, I wonder what about the game is causing it? I'm usually very good at 3D platformers it's just this one, there's something strange about it.

Mario Kart is Mario Kart, I don't know if I'm getting grumpy or I played way too much of it on Wii & 3DS but it's the game that's had the least amount of time spent on it, I've done a couple of the cups and played online a bit, them blue shells eh? I'm playing it with the nunchuck and Wiimote as I find the gamepad a little bit cramp inducing for this game.

I've treated myself to NSMBU & DK Tropical Freeze which I've yet to play and I have a Captain Toad coming from The Game Collection. What a way to start off owning a new system, I'm loving Mario in HD, so pretty!

I've not spent a great amount of time with the machine but I'm looking forward to spending more time with my new toy now that the festivities have passed :D

Could also be a redesigned (e.g slim) Xbone or PS4. Or a new console by Amazon. Or Apple. Or a new handheld by MS. Or something like the Nvidia Shield. Or a games-centric mobile phone or tablet. Or a Steam Box. Or any one of a trillion other things. Or utter bollocks.

Really fancy playing Hyrule warriors tonight but finding WiiU games in a shop is becoming like looking for hens teeth (don't want to download it). CEX have bugger all near me, supermarkets don't seem to stock WiiU stuff, HMV are either closed or overpriced, John Lewis near me's stopped stocking games and the nearest GAME closes in 8 minutes. I live in the middle of frickin London!! Absurdly, the best option might be to go navigate the Harrods sale crowds to see if their game department (if it still exists) has a copy of Hyrule Warriors.

Edit: Harrods don't stock video games anymore either. :(

Give it time. I found alternating between the D-pad and the analog stick helped loads when it came to running in a straight line. Moving the camera to a more '2D' angle also helps at first.

The hand cramp caused by the gamepad will also go after a bit of time.

Patience and time is the key.

I received a Wii U Premium for a Christmas present this year and I am having a whale of a time with it. My nephew was insanely jealous and wants me to bring it with me on my next visit so he can play. What's the cheapest way to get three extra controllers so we can all play 4 player SM3DW together? Official Nintendo Wii remotes seem to sell for £40+, with the pro controller seemingly even more expensive. £120+ just to play multiplayer seems a bit much.

I see Play-Asia are selling them for about £25 each but I've never ordered hardware from them before. Am I likely to get stung for import duty?

What about the third party remotes that can be bought for about a tenner from Amazon, are they much cop?

Sorry for all the questions.

I bought some wii play motion bundles like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Red-controller-and-Wii-motion-play-Nintendo-Wii-/171618159303?pt=UK_Controllers_Attachments&hash=item27f53d4ac7

I personally wouldn't touch third party pads

Have you tried Argos? They're one of the few bricks and mortar stores that seem to bother stocking Wii U games.

Edit: Walworth Road (that's Elephant & Castle right?) have it in stock if you want to reserve it for tomorrow

I cracked and got the download version from Game, only to be greeted by an email saying they'd received my order and it may take 24 hours to arrive. Gaah! I'll cancel it for the disc version tomorrow morning.

I've also got eight Amiibos all boxed, Marth, Falcon, Fox, Seamus, Villager, Pit, Link, WiiFit trainer and haven't quite been able to bring myself to open them yet. Falcon should be the first to go as my Mii needs his outfit for Mute City.

You can buy used 1st party Wii remotes from CEX for £12.

Thanks for that. Hadn't thought about them. I don't have one nearby so I've ordered from the website. They also had Lego City: Undercover which I've been looking for at a reasonable price so that's a result.

Give them a good look over first. There were two in Fulham with the nubs all worn out, all grey and probably covered in bogies.

Erm...oh dear  I suppose I may have been a bit hasty.
