The 2D levels on Generations were nice.

The 2D Classic Sonic levels were, until Classic Sonic became the same as Modern Sonic about a third of the way through the game.

So 1/3rd of 1/2th of the game (that's 1/6th, Fraction Fans) was OK. Actually, less than that as the bosses were shit too.

To be honest, all the 2d levels were shit, unless you played on a PC that could actually render them with a decent frame rate. Just a horrible blurry mess of a game.

When are amiibos available for purchase?

Also is captain toad getting a US release before Xmas? Is there a confirmed smash bros wiiU release date for US?

I bought out my housemates share of the wiiu. 100 pounds for the premium and around 8 games. Pretty happy with that.

Amiibos out at the same time as Smash (Nov 21st, for us).

Toad is out on the 5th of December (again, for us).

Reckon we can get a local Smash gathering going?

Been thinking of buying virtual console games. Is there a list showing which ones run in 50/60hz? I want to know which games I should avoid.

On the eShop when you look at a game look at the software description. If it's 60Hz it will say something like 'This is the US version' at the bottom. I don't think GBA games have that message though, but they're unaffected by the 50/60 issue so they don't need it.

Quick list of 50Hz games:

NES

Balloon Fight

Kirby's Adventure

Ufouria: The Saga

SNES

Donkey Kong Country 2

Harvest Moon

Legend of The Mystical Ninja

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Pop'n Twinbee

Pop'n Twinbee: Rainbow Bell Adventures

Super Metroid

Metroid at least was PAL-optimised so runs really well. I think that the general rule is that if there was optimisation made to the PAL version, they use that one, otherwise they use the US one.

Except the Wii-U can't output 50Hz.

So it's a 50Hz conversion outputting at 60Hz causing a frame skip every second.

Feel like getting a new wii u game but I'm not sure what to go with. I'm in Japan so I have the following to choose from (if it's not listed and you think it should be, I probably already own it)

Captain Toad, Donkey Kong, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Project Zero, Lego City, Rayman Legends.

Tough choice... Perhaps a bit odd but I am probably most interested in Lego City. I held off while waiting for the price to drop but it never went below 4000 yen and doesn't seem to be going to anytime soon.

Is Lego City actually good in terms of the gameplay? I know people praise the dialogue etc, but what about the actual game?

In terms of multiplatform games I'm interested in trying an Assassins Creed game(I've never played any of them). Is 3 as crap as the vocal forum consensus suggests? I like the look of the setting.

If so I'll probably get AC4, but if I get 4 I'll buy it for the PS4 :)
