Nintendo Wii U

I think that may be the best deal for me to finally get one. I can't help but wonder whether Amazon will do anything similar when it comes to their Black Friday Deals. Might not be as good though.

I doubt you'll get anything much better. The deal makes the console under £100, and it comes with a sensor bar as well which saves another couple of quid. Even if amazon do match it, knowing the Lightning deals, it would sell out in seconds.

You're getting three excellent games and a very solid party game, a wii remote plus and a sensor bar with the console. You're going to want some extra storage (though the same could be said about the Premium console too), but it's a fantastic price and I'd definitely snap it up if I were you.

Good news! My replacement Wii U has arrived and it works.

Just doing the system update now and then I'm in.

Was going to transfer all the data from my Wii but have decided against it. Will keep all the old stuff on there in case the little 'un wants to use it. I don't mind starting from scratch on the Wii U and I think I can still transfer all my Mii's via my 3DS.

Might try and get a quick blast on something before football.

As soon as my little boy see's it tomorrow though I know I'm hardly gonna get a look in, especially when he starts Lego City Undercover.

Yeah I was thinking about how quick those Lightning Deals would put a damper on it. Plus I've been looking forward to getting the Bayonetta games (I sold the PS3 version as soon as they announced it would be on the WiiU) and I have a few spare portable drives ready to use as external storage.

I've now ordered on there so that'll be something to look forward to for the beginning of the week! :D

Yeah I "modded" a friends wii u a couple weeks back with nintendont and some emulators and was quite impressed. Hopefully the gamecube adapter will also work when it's released? I might mod mine too if it does.

4 hours to back up the nand kinda sucked though.

Me neither, that's one to add to the list.

So just to recap I already have a Wii which has been set up for Homebrew. Would I need to apply the Homebrew again on the Wii U's vWii mode and then perform the system transfer after this? Assuming I already have the NAND backup ready from the SD card to restore my original Wii afterwards.

I'll say. Should only take about 20 minutes!

Odd, maybe it was the speed of his SD Card? I remember a few years ago backing up the NAND of a wii and that took a good hour. I was surprised why it took 4 hours this time though!

Anyway, Nintendont seemed okay well worth it if you want an "all in one" nintendo machine . Shame N64 isn't supported because you would be able to run every generation of nintendo on the wii u! (well perhaps 3ds i don't know the deal with that).

I set up Nintendont on my Wii U in about five minutes using Smash Bros Brawl and 2GB SD card. I can now take the SD card out and continue my mirror mode run of the GC Twilight Princess on my trusty old hacked Wii upstairs.

Oh, it great upstairs because I can use the Wavebird. :-D I have to make do with a Wiimote and classic controller downstairs.

Does the Classic Controller work on GC games then? I'm tempted to give it a go myself.

Aye, it works perfectly. It even has analog triggers for FLUDD aiming in Mario Sunshine.

The Wii U Pro controller is also supported on the Wii and Wii U. No analog triggers though.

Yeah it does. I was mucking around trying to get a USB PS3 pad working and not having much luck (turned out i should have turned on a HID USB option in the nintendont config) but a classic pad (or wii pro controller) worked and was obviously a better choice than a ps3 pad..

edit: shirubagan hope the PMd info helps.

Does the Wii U do background downloading? And that's all this Nintendont stuff all about?

Yes.

Nintendont is more or less backwards compatibility for GC games. It's not perfect though.

Is there an adaptor to allow GC controllers to connect to the Wiimote? F-Zero GX is nearly unplayable on the Wii U Pro Controller.
