Nintendo Wii U

Loads out/coming out? yeah right lol.

I'm down to 2 games i'm playing occassionally, before the console gets resigned as an expensive designer doorstop.

You certainly have yourself convinced. And no, other nintendo consoles have had some great 3rd party support over the years

Horses for courses mate. Just because you're only playing two games and aren't looking forward to anything doesn't mean everyone else is in the same boat.

and each generation "lack of third party support" get's wheeled out as a reason Nintendo are doomed. Don't get me wrong it's worse than ever. But my point was that that's not what a lot of people here buy a Nintendo console for, it's to sit next to their Xbox or Playstation.

There's enough coming out over the next 12 months on the WiiU to keep me happy. Xenoblade alone will probably consume 6 months of my life. Plus with my Vita/3DS and 360, I'll always have something to plough through. I've got about 15 JRPGs on my Vita alone that I haven't even looked at yet!

Wii U version of Disney Infinity is now free on the eShop. You'll need a Wii/Wii U/PS3 base and some figures though.

I must be blind.... I cannot find it @_@;

Edit: perhaps it only appears if you own the disc version?

Just to elaborate - cannot find it at all - searched Disney then infinity and a quick manual search

I wasn't at all interested in Hyrule Warriors until someone posted this in another thread:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-07-22-heres-why-you-should-care-about-hyrule-warriors

I'm quite tempted to give it a shot now. I've never been able to get into any of the previous DW games before, and I think the familiar setting for this one might be the tipping point.

I just came across this GameCube pad while looking for Hyrule Warriors.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wired-Fight-Pad-Yoshi-Nintendo/dp/B00LSBNSAO/ref=sr_1_8?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1409578065&sr=1-8&keywords=hyrule+warriors

Put me down for one of each variant but mainly the Peach one.

By the way, those aren't the official Nintendo ones, they are third party controllers.

There are the official ones (see here: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2014-06/11/gamecube-e3) but I don't think anywhere has them for sale yet.

Has anyone else experienced this?

My Wii U gamepad's home button was flashing blue. So what, it's a new message.

But when I got near to the Wii U, it automatically switched on the screen to display the advert for the Mercedes Mario Kart DLC.

Then switched off.

I swear I touched absolutely nothing on the gamepad....

Anyone else seen this?

If it's real, it's a cracking idea for adverts... ;-)

I already knew about the free stuff (and the sales it was advertising prior) from on here anyway, it seemed good to leave on but I found it intrusive and so it all got switched off which is a plus, at least it's optional. I get enough fucking adverts thrown at me throughout the day without my videogame machine doing it as well, even when it's off.

Lobbies are still very busy. It's inly 4 players and easy to find a space.

It takes ages to get into it mind as the tutorial missions start out very sedately. The demo is a bit misleading as it's for experienced hunters.

Drop in to the thread and ask around. We're always happy to help out.

It's a phenomenally deep game. Each weapon drastically alters your play style and the game requires a decent amount of skill. At first you'll be struggling against small monsters and later on you'll have learnt their behaviours/tells and will be carving them up with ease.
...I really shouldn't start playing it again.

Oh God ;)

What issue with the text size? I'll agree that it does look cack on 3DS when you have the 3D on but it's fine on a TV and the gamepad. Text is minimal anyway so don't let that comment put you off.

As for buying a copy it seems to hold it's value pretty well, but there is a big Capcom sale on the US eShop at the moment which may come here if we're lucky.

I've been off work yesterday and today sou thought I'd complete Wind Waker.

It's very good, but at 18 hours in, I'm only at the Wind Temple. I'm never going to finish this before Monday am I?

I'm a little bit further along but just got tired of the yet another dungeon style of gameplay. I would say you could finish it this weekend just another 8 to 10 hours of gameplay left.
