What's wrong with Mario Golf and NES Remix 2?

Mario Golf's main problem is that it's not called Everybody's Golf and NES Remix did absolutely nothing for me. I will concede that I'm too young to remember the NES and that it's probably one of those games you need to play to get, however.

I hardly play golf games but Mario Golf was made by the original Everybody's Golf team so I assumed it had the edge + fun? (ill dig out my vita and give Everybody's Golf a quick round)

Nintendo need to stop these Directs as it's the same negative reaction every time. Waaah. Waaaah. You showed us 5 games but we wanted 10. Waaahh.

Just put out a new trailer every now and again like everyone else.

That's not the case in the slightest. I like the Nintendo Directs. I'm specifically talking about this one. Aside from Nes Remix 2, there was nothing new shown for the Wii U. They have maybe five or six games coming to it at retail this year. That's not good.

Directs are used more for showcasing upcoming games. If you expect new game announcements every time then of course there will be dissapointment. Nintendo have plenty of Wii U games in development it's just the lack of 3rd party games leads demands for more! more! After DKCTF there won't be much until MK8. Then i think will be a 'big' push from Nintendo up till Xmas with a string of high profile games.

I really hope you're right. But considering bugger all high profile has been announced, and it seems to take ages and a few delays between announcement and release, I'm not optimistic :(

Yeah, are games really the problem? Everyone recognises it's got some great Nintendo games.

All the games they have announced are all catering to people who already own the Wii U. There's nothing that will get Average Joe to invest in a console, which is what Nintendo needs.

I would agree on most games but Mario Kart sold over 20 million copies on the Wii so i'd be very, very surprised if that didn't move some consoles. It might not of course, but I would expect to see some uplift in console sales.

Given the sales figures, I'd say Mario Kart 8 is about as big a title at appealing to a mass market as you can hope to get. It's pretty much the ultimate cross-over game between <gulp> casuals and gamers. If anything at all can even slow the slide a little bit, it'll be MK.

If they have any other really big announcements, they'll be holding them for E3 which is only 3 months away now.

Wasn't that because it was the only other game that Wii Sports players bought? And those people are pefectly happy playing Mario Kart and Wii Sports on their Wii's.

Couldn't agree more. It's because it's "the other console". I want one and there's plenty to play but I know I'm going to get an xbone or ps4 in the next year so the price puts me off.

DK & Mario 3D were only announced at E3. I'm predicting Zelda at E3 and Xmas release this year.

Well Mario Kart is the big test and potentially the last throw of the dice for the Wii U.

Nintendo need to do massive publicity for this game and use it both to sell the Wii U and to actually let the world know that it's a new HD console and not just a tablet accessory for the Wii.

If they don't do that, or if they do but it still doesn't work, I think we can declare the Wii U, if not dead, then at least terminally ill.

I say that as someone who's very happy with the Wii U and its great collection of fantastic games.

Heads up for anyone interested, HMV are selling Rayman Legends for £9.99 I picked a copy up from the Bath branch on the way home today.

It's been posted on UK Hot Deals so you may have to hurry to beat the pikeys filling up wheelbarrows full of them.

I'd have posted this on the bargains section but no one ever looks in there.

Same in Newcastle, they've also got Injustice, Batman Arkham City and Assassin's Creed 3 for the same price too.

Owning both, Compared to the PS4, this year the Wii U will be a veritable feast of gaming.
