Nintendo Wii U

Had my first real Wii U problem today. Transferred all my Wii saves over and only just tried to play Smash Bros and I can't play it for shit without a Gamecube controller :(

I'm actually worried that the wii u game can not use a gamecube pad. The pad worked mostly great with the game and anything else just sucks.

I bloody hope not, otherwise they would need to do some freebies for us early adopters

Nah, I bought it when it had enough games and hit a price I was happy to pay, plus, it's been out over a year. It's the videogame early adopter gamble - shit sales and a price drop when you already own one.

Anyway, even people with next to no money should get the chance to play Nintendoland with friends and family.

True, but they gave everyone free stuff when the 3DS sales took off like a rocket after it being so dear...ah well.

Anyway, I am more than happy with my Wii u and it will be my only system this gen so I will just get on with it.

Still on the fence about the new donkey kong...

How does the actual Pikmin game compare to the Nintendoland one? Is the gameplay at all similar, or does the Nintendoland one just use the characters?

Anyway, Nintendoland is great and all but what is with those endless instructions? Voiced by a speech synthesiser to boot! More like TUTORIALand, amirite?

Is it because I use guest Miis I get them all the time?

Yeah, the tutorials are only for the first time you play; any time after that you have the option of listening to the tutorial when you start.

The real game of Pikmin has some similarities with the Nintendoland game but it's more about managing your Pikmin and their different types to complete different tasks across the map and managing your time to get as much done as possible before the sun sets. It's basically a lovely nintendo take on real time strategy and absolutely a must buy for the Wii U.

If more sales equals more games being developed, then it's "a good thing"
