Nintendo Wii U

Ah yes, by the time I got mine the GamePad's lack of range was already widely documented.

I only got mine for this Christmas but I still had hope of being able to play, ooh, outside the room with the Wii U in. Why, I dunno - I mean, it's Nintendo what was I thinking.

Just picked up MH3U in the "sale". Will be fumbling around in it over the weekend, so if anyone fancies some monster huntin', add me up - I've put a few hours in on the 3DS, but haven't touched it in months, so will likely have forgotten...everything :D

NNID is NerdyEyes.

Anyone use the pro controller much? Is it worth getting? I've just got 3D Mario and Wind Waker at the moment :)

I bought mine and promptly didnt touch it for 6 months. But slowly I have used it more and more and now its my preferred controller for the system.

Its a balancing act as while the range is limited at least it works perfectly when in range unlike remote play on vita that is an utter mess, but i guess you can at least 'play' while being on the loo even if it is a laggy half framerate less buttons experience...

Or you could play an actual Vita game, whereas you can't use the gamepad for anything when you're out of range ;)

Or you could play some better games on a 3DS ;)

But yeah, Vita is nice little machine but remote play needs a new revision of hardware and better implementation to work as well as it does on the wii u (within range)

I've been using it on Mario quite a bit it's just a lot more comfortable for extended sessions. Worth noting you need the game pad for some levels though.

guess it's just the layout of my house (but as i have said before) i can use my gamepad anywhere in the house. One time it did break the video connection for several seconds when i was on the upstairs loo but it soon rectified itself and i was playing Mario with a big smile on my face taking a shit. good times.

Same here. No problem in any room in the house.

You don't get a remote with the premium anyway & any knockoff sensor bar should be peanuts on Amazon or eBay.

You don't? I always thought you did. I think it was mentioned on here you could use the game pad as a sensor or did I dream that?

It's a bit hit and miss using the pad as a sensor. Not because it doesn't work, but that it's implemented a bit wrong by Nintendo.

Wii mode? Press B at boot up to go straight to Wii mode and the pad works as a sensor. Great!

Press the Wii icon from the menu? You need a sensor bar, the pad doesn't work as a sensor in standard Wii U mode...

Wii Sports Resort? Pad doesn't work as a sensor at all.

It's one of those things that's infuriating. But then you can buy a

Sensor for about 5 quid.

Story DLC, so the Mr Freeze stuff won't show on Wii U but the people who bought the season pass can keep what's already out there.

Guessing WB didn't sell enough season passes on the format to justify the risk of trying to claw back their costs after the DLC was released.
