If you redeem a download code then the points you get are based on the eShop price, not what you paid for the download code.

Incorrect, they're based on the price you paid for them.

Both Pikmin 3 and Super Mario 3D World points were based on £42.01 (they're £42.99 from Game).

They're based on the eShop price. That price they give for the point basis is reduced and makes it 10 points per pound rather than 8 (you got 420 for Mario). My Pikmin was listed at £33.61 for 336 points.

Probably to do with exchange rates or something.

Nope. The eShop has no way of knowing what you paid.

I bought a Nintendo Land code for £20. I still got the full amount of points. Every code I've bought from Game has given me the same points it would have if bought from thy eShop directly.

And Pikmin 3 was only £39.99 on the eShop and £34.99 from Game.

So that means a £5 voucher for every £62.50 you spend (by my calculations at least). Better than MS's "here have 17p as you've been with us a decade and spent 1000s on our stuff. Don't spend it all at once!"

I wish the Netflix App had the user accounts implemented. Until it does it means only I can use it (as it defaults to your first account). Unless I've missed the option?

VAT. They don't give you points for VAT.

So the best way to get extra wii motes is to buy the Wii u party pack? Once I have three copies what do I do with the two extra games?

You also get a nice red one with Wii Play Motion so at least you could get one different game. My kids recommend it! (Especially the ghost hunting game.)

This was a good shout but at Game (where I have credit) it is only £1 cheaper than a controller on its own, £7 more than Wii U Party, £3 more than the Mario and Luigi controllers. At this rate I shall be buying four copies of Wii U Party!

Do I need the nunchucks for many games?

I asked the same, no idea. I've got three but then I realised that wouldn't work for 4 player tennis. Or for a handful of the 5 player games that are probably fine with 4 players. But I guess that's about it? Nunchuks I've just kept one for now and will see how it goes, I remembered that the amount of time two got used once on the Wii was pretty much never.

I'm one of those guys who, this time last year, claimed he'd never buy a Wii U and had given up on Nintendo.

My Mario pack arrived yesterday from Argos with the free Marvel Lego game. It's a great bit of kit. I'm currently watching the Pikmin move my files from my old Wii.

NSMB WiiU is stunning! Can't wait to get 3d World and Pikmin at Xmas.
