The wife grabbed me one of these in the Cyber Monday sales over here as a present because I was really unwell.

Got NSMBU + Luigi U, and 3D World. 3D World is a superb game, and great in multiplayer. Wii Sports is just as good as it used to be, and I'll upgrade that when I get some eShop credit today.

So far, loving the little machine.

So I'm getting Wii U for Christmas. :D The Zelda bundle to be exact, but I'm wondering. How much faffing around will I be doing come Christmas morning? I know at launch the Wii U had a horrid time with updates and such. They fixed this right?

It takes absolutely fucking ages to get set up, I'm glad I've done it all beforehand but it's so tempting to just play with all the features... managed to resist tho :)

edit: The download speed for Wii Fit U was pretty poor as well, although it did at least download Karaoke and Sports Club automatically when I left it on overnight.

Link? I thought the general concensus was that it was likely more X footage?

It would be a very good move though, providing of course, it's a cracking reveal.

Mostly based on Reggie wearing a Zelda jacket during a photo shoot, where the logo wasn't LBW related and some guy associated with the awards randomly tweeting a picture of the Master Sword.

VGX is very much the Mountain Dew and Dorritos crowd. X is too Japanese for them. The only game that could make them whoop would be Zelda... Remember that Twilight Princess reveal at E3?

As somebody who has never played Earthbound (or any of the Mother games) and thus won't have nostalgia feeding into his enjoyment of the game... is it worth picking up?

very much so bob, you should pop on wii u chat sometime as well, Im usually on. Im sure you will get a rendition of "I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus" from my 2-year-old daughter.

Well, it's been just over a week since I cancelled my PS4 pre order and bought a Wii U instead. Got to say no regrets at all, having myself a right old Mario reunion party :D Been playing Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World and tonight bought Super Mario World from the eshop. Everyone is different and great. Also let my heart rule my head and bought Gradius and Ghosts N Goblins :eyebrows:

Got a few games I might trade tomorrow and pick up Zelda The Wind Waker.

Right, so, Wii U update news. I have to ask again seeing as no fucker told me last time. I've got:

A Wii U Premium

NSMBU / NSLU

Nintendoland

Rayman Legends

Wii Fit Meter x2 (therefore the downloaded Wii Fit U trial goes to the full version on registration, yeah?)

Wii Party U + Black Remote

Mario Remote

Zelda Remote

Codes for Sports Club Bowling & Tennis (the game seems to have downloaded already - 1GB or so - so presumably I'll just get full access when I enter the codes?)

I've got my miis extracted to SD from my wii to SD, hopefully I'll be able to transfer them when I get the HBC on the vWii. I've also got any game saves I want to keep from Wii on SD. I've got the Wii U updated,

There's some Wii U Pro bonus thing mentioned somewhere, for the eshop? Is that something separate I need to register? What else have I missed or otherwise need to buy, sort or organise to make the best use of this on Xmas day (SM3DW will be picked up at some point, as will SMW on VC)? Do I need a 4th remote to make the most of it? I've used it for the absolute bare minimum, I don't even know what or where the Miiverse is yet but that's the best way of adding friends, yeah? I think I'm on there as stefcha.

It's seemed quite nice from the little I've seen of if, but by christ it's disappointingly long winded to get things set up on a console from the off these days, and nothing seems particularly fast. I pine for the plug in, turn on, play game days... one thing that the Vita absolutely bloody nails. Probably took ages to set that up too though to get to that point.

Still playing NSMB but the WiiU backlog is building by a series of 'I'ld be stupid not to' purchases.

NSL (pack in)

Nintendoland (£12 2nd hand)

ZombieU (£8)

FitMeter (To unlock WiiFit U - I've already a balance board, so this seems a crazy bargain)

Rayman Legends (£19.99 new from GAME)

Super Mario World 3D (on it's way from amazon)

Soooo good.
