Try playing WiiSports or WiiSports Resort with a regular pad...

You're using the exception to try and prove the rule though. Yes the wiimote was great in wii sports and wii fit (and RE4 to be fair) but that was it really. Unfortunately every fricking game ever (apart from Xenoblade and Monster Hunter) was shoe horned into using the fricking wiimote and I fricking hated it and fast stopped playing my fricking wii largely because of fricking it.

Enough frickings for you? :)

Err, and at the very least every other game where it was used as a pointer, which was precise and excellent (Sin & Punishment 2 is pure zone joy - hand in your gaming card if you passed it over) - it also enabled the creation far better console FPS controls than dual analogues (although only Treyarch really nailed it in the end :/)

Monster Hunter did use it, btw - you had to drag monsters into your journal with the pointer to be able to see your stats on each one. It was also the only way to add items you wanted to your special journal list, whereupon they'd make The Special Sound when you got one  Plenty of people swore by the Wiimote control scheme, but the Pro pad was so lovely I never even tried it.

Except that a) the wii wasn't and was never likely to be an fps machine b) although the wiimote and nunchuck worked perfectly in MP3:C, which could have been I guess a big launchpad for wii fps's, the game was sterile and they ruined Samus in my eyes for ever with it and c) arguably the playstation move did it miles better but that didn't break the conventional fps gamepad mold either

The wiimote nunchuck combo worked really well in Goldeneye.

Which wasn't that bad a game... The acting was shite, mind you

I wonder which game or games on this list offend bcass the most

It was largely filled with fluff to be fair (as in, stuff available for ages elsewhere anyway as opposed to not being any good), I'd asked a similar question the other day and seeing this list didn't make me feel much different to how I did before - uninspired. Still, it seems like there's probably enough good original stuff at least, numbers are irrelevant and if anything having too many good games is a bad thing, that's why I've got hundreds of the bloody things lined up to play on various other platforms as it is. Less is more!

Even better, buy Wii Party U, it comes with a wiimote plus for the price of a wiimote. May as well get a game too!

And if you want another wiimote+, get Wii Play Motion which comes with a rather natty red one, and has some good fun games included.

Oh my. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-21-nintendos-299-wii-u-bundle-includes-super-mario-3d-world

Nintendo UK has announced a new Mario-themed Wii U bundle for sale on 29th November via its online store.

Named the Mario Mega Bundle, it includes a Premium Wii U console, New Super Mario Bros. U, its expandalone DLC New Super Luigi U and the highly-praised upcoming Super Mario 3D World.

Nintendo is also throwing in a Mario hat and a special Mario-themed Wii Remote, and charging £299 for the lot.

A quick reminder - this is how much the Wii U Premium console cost by itself in the UK at its launch less than a year ago.
