Nintendo Wii U

I'm not going to lie to you, if you have a large telly then Wii games do not look all that good. I don't think the Wii U does any upscaling, the only benefit you get is that it's an HD connection rather than component/composite going into your HD telly. If you're not terribly arsed about image quality then it won't bug you but going from a Wii U to a Wii game is quite jarring. However, the latest update lets you use the gamepad screen for Wii games (but not Wii U controls) and that actually looks pretty good, if you want second screen action.

It felt like there was literally about ten pieces of content on the entire store. Presumably there's a bunch of good stuff on there worth downloading but it feels like there's no way I'll ever find it

There still isnt loads on there, you're best looking by going into the search option and browsing that way. Just remember the option of "WiiU download/disk" (or similar) will bring up any retail releases you can download, while just "WiiU download" is just the stuff thats available via the store like Trine or the indie stuff. It's a bit of a pain, and could do with a proper "browse games" option. Or if it's there, make it clearer where!

I downloaded Super Mario World earlier because I had an itch, and while it's amazing how sharp the game looks, it looks really strange on a big TV because of it! Playing it on the pad is ace though, and looks just like I remember :D

I don't want new stuff though, that was the problem. I only got a Wii U on Thursday so I want to see all the best stuff the eShop offers since it began, and I couldn't find any easy way of browsing it.

Saying it's like the App Store is no compliment ;)

This might be an American list but I'd look here then use the search feature on the eshop.

I wish it would upscale, I'd like to play the Metroid Prime games again.

It is a shame but then I remember that there's no BC on the PS4 and Xbox One and I guess it could be worse.

The Gamepad is a decent compromise.

I registered a Fit Meter yesterday with my download of Wii Fit U but it still says 'Wii Fit U (promo)' on the dashboard. Is this the same for everyone or am I experiencing a bug where the Wii U still thinks it's still a demo?

Mine says the same. Perhaps the promo part disappears after the trail period?

As the first Christmas at home for a good few years, I'm really hoping to open a copy of Wind Waker HD on Christmas morning. We always seem to be visiting relatives at Christmas, which doesn't allow much time for gaming. There's nothing quite like that Christmas Zelda feeling.

Same here.

I had a thought - what exactly is stopping you from registering lots of copies of Wii Fit U with the same Fit Meter? Like, I'll go round my friend's house and register his copy to get a free Wii Fit?
