loving the fact i can use the controller in any room of the house.

played mario for a bit, messing with the miiverse stuff now. must add people.

Any room? I'm lucky if my pad maintains a signal in the next room with clear line of sight.

I wish they had the option to extend the range.

(posting under the quote for Dekay) The weird thing is my range was terrible, until I got the new sky router, the white box one. It seems to have increased the range. It could be my imagination, but if I walked out of the living room the signal dropped. Now I can manage to get upstairs or into the kitchen with it. Weird.

I hope and pray every night for a new metroid prime in HD with gamepad weapon switching etc...

I had such high hopes too about Aliens: Colonial Marines for the wii u, what with them saying the motion tracker would be on the gamepad etc. I wonder if they even started programming it seeing as how the development for the other systems was such a clusterfuck

I didn't think it had had anything to do with the wifi ?

Yes I've just been laying in bed in the room upstairs playing mario without any issues at all.

It uses wifi, so if a new router is on a different channel it's likely causing less interference, so you get better range from the pad.

Maybe interference from the original wifi router? I'm certain that the Wii u uses 2.4ghz as the streaming frequency (unregulated spectrum) which means it will be affected by wifi routers and cordless telephones (and microwave ovens!)

Your new router might be using a different default frequency, so less interference.

Edit: like above! Lol

I thought you'd made those up until I looked on Amazon, funny how even now some games can still pass you by completely. They look like exactly the type of thing I'm after, cheers!

No worries. I'm playing through Cursed Mountain again at the moment. It's pace is almost glacial, but there is just something about it... It's quite an unsettling, and as Scottcr said, mature story. And the lead character is a gruff, bearded Scotsman. Which is always worth a look.

Disaster: Day of Crisis is just nuts. It makes the COD games look restrained. It was made by the Monolithsoft, who also made Xenoblade, but it couldn't be more different if it tried. It's rough around the edges, but it throws so much at you so rapidly that you just get swept along in the whole madness of the thing.

wait what there's a new mario?? is 3D? please let it be 3D

EDIT: OMFG it's 3D and i'm a kid all over again

I had heard there was a new "Super Mario 3D World" thing coming out, but I assumed, with the 3D moniker, it was going to be for the 3DS, and handhelds don't interest me.

So I've just looked, and it turns out it's for the Wii U. Well I never. It looks heavenly. Nintendo: get your branding sorted out, pronto.

Exclusives? We've got Mario this month. Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Yoshi's Epic Yarn or whatever it's called, X and Donkey Kong spread across 2014. Project CARS isn't technically exclusive but I think it'll come first to Wii U on consoles.

Then there's Lego Marvel, Child of Light, Yakuza 1 and 2 HD (maybe), and Watch_Dogs. Yakuza is unlikely but not impossible, the rest should all come out by March 2014. Plus we'll get Nintendo Directs from now till then.

Not much :(
