Are WowHD still sending out US and HK games as UK ones? So they won't work?

Hmm, Super Mario 3D land looks OK. However, a long time after the console was released it still seems there are barely any decent games. When's Mario Kart meant to come out? Also, are the likes of Assassins Creed or Call of Duty going to be any good on the console, or is better to buy a PS3/4 or Xbox One? I can get the 32GB with Zelda HD for about £150 after trade-in, so it's cheap but not entirely sure it's a good idea...

It seems that you are bypassing the recommendations of The Wonderful 101. If you like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, or anything remotely hack'n'slash you should definitely get it.

Fuck the demo, it's shit. Just buy the game. It should be cheapish now. You won't regret it.

Don't know. It says PAL on the description...

Just checked. They all say PAL on the description and there is this drop down warning:

Region Information

There are 2 main types of format for console games – PAL and NTSC. This applies to Playstation 2, Playstation 3, XBOX, XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii.

  • PAL games are primarily designed for Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and parts of Europe (including Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, France and Denmark).
  • NTSC games are primarily designed for the USA, Canada and Japan.

It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure both their gaming console and television equipment are compatible with the games they are ordering.

Games attract strict manufacturer guidelines and return authorisation will not be issued for incorrectly ordered games.

If you are unsure which format of game to order, please refer to your console instruction manual. Alternatively we recommend that you confirm the format of other titles in your collection. The majority of games will have a PAL or NTSC logo on the cover.

Shipping Information

The majority of our games ship from overseas and are subject to extended shipping times. In most cases you will receive your item in 4-10 business days from the date of shipment. For new release games our products are usually shipped to you on their release date, this means you will receive the game in most cases 4-10 business days after the release date.

Pretty much guaranteed, although they haven't confirmed it. They say the only reason they haven't from the start is that they haven't finished them all and they want to get something out before Christmas.

Ah sound, cheers.

No. It's not once it's happened either, but other games have been the wrong region (yet sold as PAL/UK) but worked. I personally bought a "PAL/UK" Crackdown from them many years ago, and this arrived:

I wasn't that fussed as it worked (and has hilarious box art), but it isn't what I ordered.

Having just seen that the PS3 has got the TuneIn app available for it, how good would that be on the WiiU? The gamepad would be perfect to choose your stream, no need to turn on the TV. Hope the Sony deal is not an exclusive.

There's loads of stuff that would be good - even just the iPlayer! But then I don't know if the fact that the uk has quite a disparate TV service (sky, Virgin and god knows how many free view set top boxes) makes it more difficult to implement the TVii service here - plus has MS not got some sort of exclusivity deal with Sky?

I just bought myself a Wii Fit board so I can try Wii Fit but instead I've eaten an entire 185g bag of M&Ms. I will try it later though.

I also bought ZombiU, despite not being wildly keen on the demo. I did enjoy it quite a bit; I only got to the point where you set off the supermarket alarm before I died trying to fend them off with the cricket bat and put the xfactor on. Maybe the demo was just a bad introduction to the game. I definitely felt less anxious about losing my character in the demo which is a big part of why I enjoyed the cautious pace when playing the game proper. I'm absolutely awful at looking and aiming with the right stick though.

Who knows. I think Nintendo actively chasing the BBC would help. Are they even doing that? I doubt it.

Part or full funding of a version would also expediate matters.

I don't know if they're actively chasing the BBC or not. They managed to get Lovefilm, Netflix and YouTube at launch, so I'd bet that they at least tried.

The BBC seem to be slow on going to new platforms. From what I can gather, it took them forever to get a decent Android app. It only came out for the 360 last year. I'm not convinced you can pin this one on Nintendo.

Noticed I had some credit at Shopto so I preordered Mario. Be rude not to. I also didn't know that the trial copy of Wii Fit U that I downloaded would convert to a full one if I bought the fit meter so I just ordered one of those from Amazon. Have to figure out where I put my balance board now.

I ordered some Wii U stuff from CD Wow, Pikmin 3 arrived fine, was the PAL version.

However, like you mentioned, they're sent from HK so when I ordered W101 I got hit with a £12 import duty, which when you're buying PAL games completely defeats the purpose!

Wii Fit U is pretty excellent. Except the part where it automatically posts a whole bunch of things onto Miiverse. About seven updates in 15 minutes. Wild.

Ski Jump is still a load of fun and I had a fair old laugh making a shambles of myself with the hippy hop dancing. The luge was great too but man, I ache. That game where you walk on the balance board while balancing a tray of desserts on the gamepad is also just wonderful. It made me hungry though so I've put a sticky toffee pudding in the oven, undoing all and more of today's exercises.
