Nintendo Wii U

Playing games on ios is basically a load of shit. Touch controls simply dont work for the games I like to play (from stuff like ZombiU to Call of Duty to Uncharted) and Nintendo games should not be ported onto the system. Most of the (very few) games that do work on the system were designed for the ios first.

Let's go #teamscott! :omg:

Don't forget to pick up TW101 as well.

Played it, but I didn't really like it. Not my thing, sorry :(

tell me you didnt pay £22 second hand for Zombie U?

Nah apart from the euros thing it was far cheaper second hand, but I prefer my games new. You know, shiny and it still smells nice :D

I hate it when they stick labels to the front of game boxes. I bought Black Ops 2 on the Wii U the other day for £8 in Blockbuster (NEW) but it has a few stupid 'sale price' stickers on it and they can be a pain to peel off and leave a mark in the plastic. Which messes with my OCD! :D haha

Glad your sorted for Mario 3D World. ;)

I have Zombie U too but still have not got around to playing it! :(

Spray some WD40 on the marks and wipe off. Good as new.

I got Zombi U yesterday from Amazon only because it was cheap and I assumed it might be just about worth £13 but you're all making me pretty excited about it now.

It's worth far more than you paid. Probably one of my favourite games of 2012. I still reminisce about last Christmas playing it late at night and scaring myself silly. It's just a shame that there will be no sequel.

It's the game that I bought a Wii for last year and it single-handedly justified it, in my opinion. You've spent thirteen quid extremely well. Ubi should have ported it and it would have probably shifted enough units to warrant a sequel.

the main reason I don't play games on my phone is preserving the bloody batteries!

On the train, I've got a whole hour of Pokemon either way. If I tried playing a proper game on iOS on the train, I wouldn't get through the day.

To be fair, your 3ds wouldnt last if your journey was much longer. I've certianly had mine conk out while on longer trains journeys for work.

I'm off work the week after next to use up leave and I'm going to spend a significant chunk of it draped on the couch playing Super Metroid*, Castlevania IV and Earthbound for the first time. Can't wait. Almost got Trine but I'll save my money for Tennis next week instead I think, I've already got a bunch of games to play first.

What's the best Kirby game on VC? I've played the 3DS remake of Kirby's Adventure and have the SFC version of Dream Course so anything but those.

* started it last year at this time, played a good few hours then accidentally nudged the cart and deleted everything. Couldn't face restarting it at the time. I've still got half of it to see I reckon.

You know what is really disappointing? The downloadable demos on the Wii U.

Why? Because nearly all of them don't actually represent how great the game really is.

Wonderful 101 - the demo was OK, but it missed out the really cool intro. Seemed like a bit of a chore when playing it. The game itself is fantastic.

Zombi U - OK, I haven't got this yet. But I thought the demo was a bit shit, to be honest. I thought it was the first level. I don't think it is. From looking at playthroughs online - the first level is nothing like the demo.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. God, I hated the demo. But I finally decided to really give it a go and see what all the fuss was about. So I played the easy level and it's 20 minutes of hitting a single monster on the head. I'm not kidding. Then when you finally get over the absolute chore of doing this- Game Over. Yip. That's it. Shite.

Resident Evil Revelations. Again, play through the game (it seems OK, but not brilliant) and then it just says "thanks for playing!"

Apart from some games (The Cave is a good example, so was the Rayman one) - do the demos on the Wii U actually do any justice to the game they're demonstrating? I've specifically not bothered buying either Zombi U or Monster Hunter based on the demo. Yet the demos don't seem to do the games justice.

However, having got both Zelda and Wonderful 101 - they are both absolutely stunning games. Zelda is a joy, maybe due to nostalgia and the fact you just don't really get "toon/Cel shaded" games anymore. It's just so much more charming than the recent, more realistic ones and makes you fall in love with Zelda again (ooer).

Wonderful 101 is just bonkers but another joy to play. It really is an experience you only get from video games.

With all the other releases for the Wii U in the coming months, it's going to be awesome...
