All I know about these HD remakes of the Wii Sports games is what I read in a tweet weeks ago that said they existed so basically nothing, I'm not sure how much they're adding and changing, but I'm sure I remember the Wii one only having three holes. It's a stupid question isn't it? I'll stop now.

Wii Golf was a bit wonky and you could play sat down just by shaking the remote a little. The way this new one works sounds seriously sick. Hopefully the motionplus coupled with the sensors on the game pad can detect proper swings this time - none of this holding down 'A' nonsense.

Sports resort isn't wonky in the slightest, it's essentially the perfect golf game. The holding down A stuff is so you can take practice swings with zero menus and hassle.

the forum was full of WTFyness when the gamepad on the ground video was shown... I always thought it looked really quite smart. No character on the screen... just look down at the ball and hit it.

However.................

I'm wondering if it actually makes putting harder?

I wonder if it will also do the balance board thing as that worked really quite well for the whole distribution of weight during the swing.

It was a LOT more accurate than the Tiger game that could use the Kinect, that was just rubbish and really didn't work at all - sports resort gold with balance board and motion plus was actually almost a bit too much like actual golf and therefore quite difficult :)

You would be sent home! Do it properly!

Received my Wii U pad repair pack ( weird gyro and one dead pixie ) so hopefully they'll get it done in tiime.

He has a point, no Sonic games released!

You shouldn't advertise a game by telling us it'll be like the 2011 preview video of the console in question, is all.

Well, and not evolving it much in the first place based on the 2006 title.

11.99, not 12.99. Here's the list from Nintendolife:

Wii U Virtual Console

Super Castlevania IV (Konami, €7.99 / £5.49) — Now this is a perfect Halloween game, and some would argue — against some fierce opposition — that it's the peak of the Castlevania franchise. This Super NES title is held in particularly high esteem for good reason, and is sure to tempt some downloads on the spookiest night of the year. You can see what we thought in our Wii Virtual Console Super Castlevania IV review until we summon the bravery to tackle it all over again. This is the US version of the game.

Wii U Retail Download

Wii Fit U (Nintendo, free trial) — Arriving on 1st November, you can download a free 31-day trial of the full Wii Fit U software, giving you early access if you also have Wii Balance Board. This could be a far cheaper option than buying the sets coming to retail, as you just need to buy and sync a Fit Metre (available at retail in various colours from the same date as this download) to extend the trial indefinitely. We'll do some stretches and warm up for a review.

Wii U eShop Retail Download Temporary Discounts

Trine 2: Director's Cut (Frozenbyte, €6.79 / £5.49 until 14th November, normally €16.99 / £13.99)

Darksiders 2 in HMV for £9.99. I'm 3 hours in and it's gone from meh to awesome quite rapidly. I'd thoroughly recommend it.
