Nintendo Wii U

Project Free TV is a free streaming TV site that has all the new stuff from the states on it. Saves you having to hunt for torrents and stuff. A few issues with pop ups and getting a stream that works as you have about 10 different streams to pick from for every episode. Once you do find one that works, you let it buffer for a bit then enjoy.

To put it into android mode, open a new tab, click settings in the top right corner then scroll down until you see something like browser and under it it says Wii U. Click on that, ignore the little warning that pops up and then select android from the list.

Can anyone recommend a good screen protector for the gamepad? I'd rather spend a little more and get a decent/easy to apply one. Thanks!

The Nintendo one with larger stylus and screen cloth was reduced to £1.50 in Asda but only seen in one large store so not sure if in them all?

I have used these ones twice and they are perfect.

There's an officially licenced Hori one, but unless you're using a stanley knife for a stylus, you don't really need one.

I was wondering about this to be honest- quite a few people seem to have them though, are they as necessary on this as they are on like the 3DS?

Mario Land 3D on release of PS4 is very cheeky on Nintendo's part.

I've still got my pre-order of the PS4 and I'll enjoy taking it out and setting it up and then going ooooo but after maybe 10 mins of Killzone I'll play Mario, I'm sure of it.

Anyone who says that the screen won't scratch are is just not true. The amount of DS/Wii U screens I have seen for sale that have 'scratches' on the screen is a lot. Same goes for the console too. Its a scratch magenet so when I got my Wii U I vinyl wrapped it in matt balck. as my first one would get scratched just from polishing it! :D

Thats a bit how I feel.

I have a few great games still to play on the PS3 and lots of goodness still to play on the Wii U (Zombie U, Luigi U, Pikmin 3, Zelda WW HD and Mario 3d World).

I have a PS4 pre order and I really want to get one and I can afford it but my problem is, will I play it enough? I ahev all these other games that need playing and so if I get the PS4 then I will just be spreading my gaming time thinner across 3 consoles.

I think, I will be passing on the PS4 until Spring and concentrate over xmas with the Wii U/PS3 combo.

Last christmas I bought myself a 3DS XL and MK7 and Mario 3D Land and I had one of those amazing christmas gaming moments again, something I havent had since I was a lot younger (PS1/N64 days) which I enjoyed.

I think I can do that again with the Wii U and Mario 3D World.

the Wii U is a great console and anyone on the fence of buying should be jumping on it. The new Mario Wii U with NSMB U and Luigi U should be where you should spend your cash and if you can have two consoles, a Wii u makes a perfect match with a PS3/4 too as the games can be so diverse.

I dont think I could ever be without a Nintendo Console and they are the ones I never sell as they hold the best times for me in gaming.

I could understand some of this forums issues with the Wii in regards to it all being SD and a bit waggle heavy (which some people vehemently hated) but the WiiU is genuinely a very good console.

Admittedly it's taken a while but anyone that is allegedly a 'gamer' rather than someone that must only play CoD and FIFA or what have you, you should really get one. It's full of proper games. Some assume them to be kids games but seriously, there are a lot of more 'hardcore' games that are a lot easier or dumbed down than even NSMBU. The recent Tomb Raider game is soooooo much easier than W101 or NSMBU the whole 'hardcore' argument is clearly just translated into "I want so-called 'mature' games (swears and marines)" rather than hardcore difficulty or skill.

Wii Party U impressions:

Had a four player session with parents and girlfriend. By far the best modes are the drawing/camera ones. The board game island is complete shit, it's just a series of gamepad gimmicks to roll the die, we only got 3 minigames in the whole game.

The minigames themselves aren't as good as the original either for me. They don't have as much of the fun little ones about guessing time and distance, instead there are loads more awkward pointy remote ones.

Other modes seem completely throwaway, I can see the appeal if you have a 5 year old son or daughter but really not a lot there for me in any of the gamepad games or the dress up dolls thing.

Still a bargain with the remote, but I'm pretty underwhelmed to be honest.

I see the Wii Fit U demo is out on Friday and you can unlock the whole thing for free by buying the Fit Meter for £20. I'm sort of tempted as I already have a balance board but I don't think it'll generate much of a sweat. I guess I'll give the demo a good go and buy a meter at a later date if it's better than I imagine. More likely the balance board will stay in the cupboard a while longer.

Some more on Wii sports club tennis:

Iwata asks:

http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/wiiu/wii-sports-club/0/0

On the other sports from NintendoEverything.com

Golf

- Use the GamePad and the TV screen
- Place the GamePad on the floor first, as shown in Wii U’s concept video back at E3 2011
- Ball is shown on the GamePad screen by your feet
- Fairway is on the TV screen
- Play like real golf
- If you face the Wiimote Plus toward the GamePad by your feet, the head of the club appears on screen
- If you twist the Wiimote Plus controller, the club head also turns
- Hit in that position and you can hit a fade and so forth
- Coming “soon”

Baseball

- Swing the Wiimote Plus like a bat
- Pitcher uses the GamePad
- Also similar to the Wii U concept video
- Look into the GamePad and choose a course and type of pitch

Boxing

“For Boxing, we’re considering a lot with regard to network compatibility and so on. I think you’ll have to wait a little longer for that.”
