Nintendo Wii U

Are the Wii U and 3DS eShop accounts separate or are they supposed to be linked? I've only just got my Wii U and I'm pretty sure I set everything up properly but my balance is showing as £0, whereas I have £9 or so on there on my 3DS. I'm about to buy EarthBound but would sooner do it with the funds I've already got on my account if that's possible. If I'm being dim and they're supposed to be separate that's no problem but I just wanted to double check before I press on.

There's talk of them being linked before too long.

Not related to Direct -- Wii U/3DS getting shared eShop balances soon. Add $$ to Wii U, shows up on 3DS. Add $$ to 3DS, shows up on Wii U. ... By the end of this year, 3DS will have an NNID system like Wii U.

Carefully does it, Nintendo. Baby steps. You don't want to get there too fast: something as unimaginably groundbreaking as a personal online account could scare away potential customers.

That's amazingly good news though. At last!

Deus Ex is really well done... Gamepad stuff is excellent

Any idea what sort of print run it had?

I would quite like to pick it up, but I have it free on PS Plus, so its Wii U price tag is a little high.

If it drops quickly - as the game did on other formats after release - and I could get it for a tenner, I would be tempted. The DLC and gamepad play is tempting, as are the frustration-free boss fights.

Though I am also worried it will become something of a rarity, like Need for Speed Wii U, or Splinter Cell Blacklist.

What.

Also, I played some four player Wii Party U last night and it was just wonderful. The pictionary style mode in particular was hilarious; you're each given 15 seconds to drawn something on the gamepad but one of you, unaware, is given something different to draw from everyone else. Examples we had were chicken/duck, police car/taxi, robot's head/television. You're all then asked to identify the odd one out. So funny,

It's also got a full players guide that can be read from the gamepad, as well as commentary and stuff. I know the game is about a million years old, but I never really played it first time and I got this for 24 quid. Well worth it if you can find it at that price.

Apparently, the WiiU version is outselling the PS3 and 360 versions in the US.

If anyone's after Blacklist its on-sale at ShopTo for £21.00. (may even be cheaper elsewhere)

I've been holding out for it hit £20, so just picked up a copy to add to the Xmas pile. It also helped that I used a load of points towards it so it ended up costing just £13! Bargain!

We got some more Wii Party U in over the weekend, I said the board game mode was phoned in but that was only the runway one. The fashion parade mode is a really good Monopoly lite type thing, there's a game with football teams where you make poker style hands. There's also another board game mode around an island.

Also of note is the excellent Twister for your fingers game, it's good fun.

There's an amazing amount of content in there and we never saw one repeat mini game over the whole weekend.

Probably not a big deal for (m)any of you, but the tie-in Young Justice game (based on the animated series and filling in the 5yr gap between the two seasons) has had the Wii and Wii U versions cancelled according to tweets from the developers. Still due on PS3/360/Pc and IIRC 3DS/Vita. Looks like a fairly basic X-Men Alliance style game, the show canon plot stuff in there written by the series producers being the main attraction..

That's a shame as both my little boy and I were looking forward to that.

Also, my two year old daughter has a terrific time turning herself into a zombie with the gamepad. Then she roams the house for half an hour with her arms outstretched moaning "Brainsssssss"

I am sure when she gets to nursery I am going to spend significant time explaining her actions to the school lol...

I got one of these last week when they were cheap on Play/Shopto and am utterly smitten by it. I'd always fancied one but I was saving for a PS4 (past tense) and it's only now we're finally getting to a point where it has enough games to justify buying it in my opinion, and it's surpassed my expectations considerably. I wanted to play Wind Waker and the Marios and Monster Hunter and Earthbound even but I wasn't expecting the lovely Miiverse stuff at all, I wasn't expecting the OS to be as nice as it is (not perfect but different and functional) and even having heard people bang on about it since launch the first time you actually put a game in gamepad mode and slink off all smug to the bog is a truly great Nintendo moment. It's just a very well designed wee thing and it's a shame everybody hates it.

I'm not sure there's much online stuff out there at the moment but my NNID is below if anyone needs another person posting screenshots of Zelda and exclaiming how pretty it all is in their Miiverse feed (please add me). Also I've bought Monster Hunter and after two false starts on 3DS where I always felt I wanted to be playing on a telly I'll be getting into that in a week or two so anyone who plays regularly and might be able to help me would be an absolute doll.

So last night i managed to get project free tv working on the Wii U browser. Had to put it into Android mode, but right now I'm posting this on the gamepad whilst Supernatural Season 9 ep 1 plays on the TV. All this snap shit on the Bone and here's the Wii U letting me do two things at once. Marvellous.
