Nintendo Wii U

The only problem I have with NSMBU is the abundance of extra lives, but that's nothing new to the series. I'd really like them to go back to punishing people for being crap and making it possible to run out of lives, but I often find myself just throwing Mario off cliffs if I've missed a star coin because it's quicker than finishing the level and going back in.

According to this http://ohnobeta.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/wii-u-update-allows-you-to-play-wii.html - you can play Classic Controller compatible Wii games on your Wii U game pad *alone* - with no additional controller. Surely not?!

Can't reply to the guy to confirm as I don't have a Google+ account.

I was just about to save my progress after playing an hour of WW while my other half was watching dick factor.

She got up to go up to bed, and as we normally do overnight went and switched off the AV corner at the plug.

The connection with the connection with the Wii U console was lost.

D'oh.

Why does it matter the save is deleted when you reload? It's not like you need it again. This is Mario, not Skyrim.

Which takes less than 15 minutes. Or use the quick save.

I keep putting off returning to the Luigi DLC because of this save scheme. I've got 4 lives on my save file. I play through 3 levels to get to the castle boss and lose my last life. It's then back to the first of those 3 levels and it pisses me off. Fair enough for most people but it's ruinous for me. I got all gold coins and exits on NSMBU but only after having rushed through to Bowser so I could get a proper save system.

How have you only got 4 lives!? The game literally bleeds them for you to collect.

Dunno, I guess I'm just not that good a gamer. So for me the needless save restriction is only there to frustratingly make me have to replay levels. It's not that bad as the levels are quite short but why do it at all? The 3D Marios don't. And nor does this after one completion.
