I bet you'll get neck cramps.

I have already overcome that, unlike Dekay it took me 12seconds - rest it on your laptop screen and angle it as you want. I admit its a 1k peripheral but it works splendidly!

I say proper.. im going to get the updated thingy pad and the snes one!!!

Mind blown!!

I always played with a Game Cube controller. Made things very easy as the courses generally were wider to accommodate the shitty motion controls

So you need to plug one optional controller in another optional controller to play on the actual controller which has all the control inputs needed to play the game built in?

The future is truly here.

Yeah it's like playing games on a smaller screen but with less buttons than you need... Ohh no, this actually works properly ;)

It would be great to just use the controller of course but then wii games didn't come with std controls built in so can't see it happening!

I really like the idea of playing F Zero X on the gamepad screen but I hate the analogue sticks on the Wii Classic Controller Pro. They feel so far away and loose. I don't really understand why Nintendo insist on drip-feeding some pretty unremarkable NES games on the Virtual Console when they have a ludicrous library of amazing games beyond then. It seems like such an easy way to make the Wii U more appealing since there aren't any other systems to give you that easy access to Nintendo's classic games. Legally.

I guess no one would buy "Tennis" if Super Tennis or N64 Mario Tennis was on there.

Yeah im not a fan of the sticks on the classic controller, i have seen you can use gamecube controllers - not sure if its an adaptor orjust some wired up for the wii.

Are the sticks no better on the later classic controller??

That later one, the black one with the extra prongs for grip, is what I have. I've not tried the white original Classic Controller.

Ahh ok, will avoid that one then - i see there are adaptors to use playstation pads etc on the wii so may get something like that. Shame i cant directly use the wavebird i have knocking around.

I really hope the Zelda spike in sales helps the Wii U.

Here's hoping that Mario is going to sell the system in large numbers.

PS: I'm having way more fun with Tank! Tank! Tank! than a 35 year old man should. It reminds me of the crazy games you'd see in the Trocadero in the late 90s. Budget awesomeness.

I asked earlier why it doesn't use the gamepad controls. Pickford said it would be hard to implement.

It's a pity they can't at least have it mimic a classic controller so it can be used in some games. But yeah, it must be because that's the part which is much harder to enable than just having it send the video to the pad and working as normal.

Most games would need custom mapping of various remote functions which I'm sure is technically possible. Maybe they'll enable it eventually for specific games.

Wouldn't 685% of 1 be six units?

Also, I wonder if most of those new sales would have been the Zelda bundle? I think it's a shame that some people won't have Nintendoland for their systems by default, same with people buying the NSMB bundle. All great games, but you can really appreciate the Wii U when get people together for some 4 player Nintendoland. They should all come with Nintendoland installed.

Glad it worked for you!

I'd recommend getting the charger cradle - makes it easy for sitting the pad.

And the SNEs classic controller is excellent- I got one out of CEX for about 20 quid.

One thing that Nintendo could improve- make it easier to play Wii ware or Wii VC games. They should have a simple icon on the gamepad for each one, when you select it the Wii U automatically goes to Wii mode and starts the game. It's just a bit clumsy at the Miocene - especially for games on the SD card. You have to go to Wii mode, go to he SD menu and hen start the game.

Plus, they should promote the Wiiware games on the eshop. There's some fantastic games on there (excite bike world tour, castlevania rebirth, bubble bobble - loads). If they reduced them to a couple of quid each and made them so you could start from the gamepad then it could show that the Wii U already has a lot more games and VC than people think.

I heart Wonderful 101. It's absolutely perfect to pick up for half an hour or so, which is ideal considering I have a short attention span. When I bought my Wii U last week, I was most looking forward to playing Pikmin 3, but I'm having so much fun with W101 and Wind Waker that it hasn't even been in the disc drive.

I picked up Pikmin 3 along with WW last week but haven't touched it (due to wanting WW done first), now Pokemon's out and it feels like it'll be a while yet before I get to touch it. Sonic next week, too. (but I'll still be too busy Pokeymaning)
